Rosalyn Morton Obituary

Rosalyn Morton
April 12, 1948 - August 3, 2023
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Rosalyn Morton passed away on August 3, 2023 after a brief illness. She is survived by her sister Laura Reid, her brother Jim (Mary Frances) Morton, and her many nieces and nephews.
Rosalyn was born on April 12, 1948 in Laurens, SC to the late Connie and Lois Curry Morton. She graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1966 and attended Winthrop University. Roz spent the majority of her life in the advertising industry, eventually launching her own company, Media Mark, Inc. Her passions included reading, traveling, spending time with friends and serving the children of Honduras through a charity that she co-founded. She was a devoted Gamecock and Panther fan. Rosalyn will be remembered for her warm and caring personality.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 11, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the home of Jim and Mary Frances Morton, 1534 Pelham Lane, Rock Hill, SC. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Wind Beneath Our Wings
It's often said that friendship isn't about who you've known the longest; it's about who walked into your life, said, "I'm here for you," and proved it. Yet, Rozzie did both. She was my confidante, my pillar, and my unwavering supporter for 33 extraordinary years. But she was more than just my best friend-she was a vital life force behind Paramedics for Children, the charity we co-founded and tirelessly championed together from 1997 until her death.
Rozzie was a quiet but formidable presence who preferred to operate from the home base rather than the field. Her humility often veiled the magnitude of her contributions, which were as significant as they were numerous. She was the glue that kept our operations together, taking care of logistics, donor relations, and countless other details that allowed the rest of us to focus on our mission. She was indispensable, and her tireless work behind the scenes was nothing short of heroic.
Her commitment to our cause was relentless, fueled by a burning desire to make the world a better place. Rozzie had this rare combination of practicality and vision. She believed in the power of kindness, in the potency of small actions leading to grand changes. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that our charity would not have achieved half of what it did without Rozzie.
Even though she was three years my senior, the thought that she would pass away before me never crossed my mind. Her untimely death has left a void that words can't fill. To me, she was more than a friend; she was family. She was like the sister I never had but always wished for-a consistent presence in every chapter of my life, every success, and every struggle for over three decades.
Her absence is acutely felt, not just by me but by the entire community that Paramedics for Children serves. She was the wind beneath our wings, the invisible force that propelled us forward even when we faced steep challenges. Now that she's gone, the future of our charity stands at a crossroads, but I'm reminded of her enduring optimism and faith.
Rozzie was a devout believer in the transformative power of goodness and grace. Even in her absence, her spirit remains a guiding light for us. I don't know exactly what direction Paramedics for Children will take in this new chapter, but I find comfort and strength in Rozzie's favorite saying: "With God's grace, all is possible."
She may have left us in body, but her spirit is immortalized in the lives she touched, in the difference she made, and in the legacy of kindness and compassion she leaves behind. Here's to Rozzie-our guiding star, our eternal wind. Thank you for making us better people and the world a better place. You are dearly missed, but your impact lives on, forever etched in our hearts.
Rest in peace, dear friend. Your mission continues in every life we touch and in every good deed we perform. You're gone, but you'll never be forgotten.

I have many fond memories of Roz when I was at Winthrop. She was always so gracious and I can´t think of being at Winthrop without remembering her. She was only a few years older but she was always much wiser. I am so sorry for your loss of your beautiful sister and aunt.
