Aaron L. Hunter, 66, of Indianapolis and formerly of Benton Harbor departed this life on Feb. 23, 2025.

Aaron was born in Benton Harbor to Aaron R.C. Hunter and Shirley Jean-Hunter Sapp. He was a proud husband, father and brother who loved without end.
Aaron was a protector, especially to the ones he loved. When he spoke, everyone listened. He said what he meant and meant what he said. Aaron enjoyed his family, music and cars.
He was a strong family man and believer. His greatest joy was being around and surrounded by his family. He was a smart man, a one-of-a-kind man. He stood out and he stood strong.
Mourning Aaron is his wife, Vernard Hunter of 25 years: daughter, Robin Berry; sons: Aaron Hunter III, Robert Berry, Virese Berry; stepdaughters: Rebecca Coy, Sierra Johnson and Jazzminique Johnson; stepsons: Prentiss, Darrell and Tawron Johnson: sister, Mary Swanigan; brothers: Ernest and Eddie Swanigan; aunt, Lena Swanigan: uncle, James Swanigan; granddaughters: Aa'Rynn, Janae and Denise Hunter; special cousin, Dwayne Poole; special nieces: Latoya Swanigan, Latonya Doss and Latosha Doss and nephew, John Woodley.
Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Aaron R.C. Hunter; mother, Shirley Jean-Hunter Sapp; brothers: Mino Swanigan, George Swanigan and Mark Swanigan; daughter, Eeron Disha Damosha Danyale Hunter and grandmother, Virgi Marie Smith.
