Gregory "Greg" L. Williams, 67, of Muskegon, Mich., formerly of Benton Harbor departed this life on Sept. 25, 2023, at the U of M Health West, Wyoming, Mich.
A musical program will be from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Benton Harbor. A celebration of life service will be on Monday, Oct. 9, at the Bethesda Baptist Church, Muskegon. Greg was born on April 4, 1956, in Benton Harbor to the union of Thelma Jean and Oscar Lee Williams. He was a born musician, with big hopes and dreams. Greg accepted Christ at 7 years old.
He was a 1974 graduate of Benton Harbor High School where he played in the Jazz Band, and he was in the Madrigals.
Greg leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Thelma Jean (Calvin) Williams; sister, Tasha L. Williams; uncle, Thomas Smith; cousins: Willie Williams, Lynn Smith and Dana Parker; godchildren: Skyla Brown, Malajiah Reevey, Mariyah Brown and Coreyion Miles: godsisters: Marilyn Jones and Ana Marie Brown; godbrother, Ronnie London, Carl Brown, Slidell, La., Jeffrey Brown Robin Lee Finch, and many other members of the BHHS Class of 1974.
Greg was preceded in death by godparents: Sam and Truelove London; godsister, Rosalyn London; uncle, Samuel Williams; aunts: Bessie Smith, Susie Boyd and Maggie Williams; great-aunts and uncles: Gloria and Willie T. Greene, and Richmond and Danny Larry; grandparents: Louis Calvin Jr., and Sam and Annie Williams; brother, Grayling L. Williams; and father, Oscar L. Williams.
