Ocsie Mae Lloyd-Parker was born in Tunica, Miss., on Feb. 12, 1931, the fourth of seven children born to the late Dan Lloyd and O.C. Sledge-Lloyd.
A homegoing celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at New Paradise Baptist Church, 287 S. Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor. Burial will follow in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday at the church. Family and friends wishing to leave a condolence online may do so at www.robbinsbrothersfh.com.
Ocsie worked for Benton Harbor Area Schools and after 30-plus years she retired from driving School Bus #37 in June 1996. With 70 years of service, Ocsie served the Lord with the New Paradise Baptist Church.
Ocsie didn't have many hobbies, but she enjoyed beautifying her yard and will truly be missed for her long nature walks around the city of Benton Harbor, for she's now resting from her labor in the arms of Jesus.
She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her three children: Dorothy Parker, Barbara Porch and Bobby (Kay) Parker; six grandchildren: Tyler (Maria) Porch, Cerick Hart, Chance Hawkins, Zaryah Madison, John Grubbs and Josh Grubbs; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Flora Hines; sister-in-law, Doris Applewhite; and a host of nieces, nephews, and the New Paradise Church family.
Ocsie was preceded in death by her husband, John Parker; her parents; her grandson, Anton Mark; three sisters: Rosie Lee Glasper, Martha D. Brady and Alberta Buels and two brothers: Lee Dale Lloyd and Adell Lloyd.
