Mr. Larry Michael Roberts, son of Lettie Marie (Richardson) and Kenneth Alton Roberts, Sr. was born on February 14th, 1956, in Durham, North Carolina. Larry spent his early years in Durham, joining Northside Baptist Church where he was rooted in his Christian experience and was exposed to golf.
Larry was raised in a loving home with parents who taught him values such as concern and caring for others and integrity. At Carpenter's shelter where Larry spent many years as an Executive Director, he was a true advocate for those in the shelter. He was "uncle" Larry to so many of the children of his relatives and friends. Larry was recognized for how he made an impact on many lives.
In late 2004, Larry met his future wife, Dr. Velma J Deleveaux. They married in the summer of 2007 and settled down in Glen Dale, Maryland
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Velma J. Deleveaux, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth A. Roberts, Sr.; his aunts, Rachel Richardson, Margaret Duhart, Joyce Jones and Joann Stembridge; his uncles, Bernard Roberts, Wilbert Roberts and Harold Duhart; one nephew, Jeremiah Roberts; his sister-in-law; Jewel Roberts, a host of cousins and friends. He is preceded by one brother; Kenneth Alton Roberts, II.
