To David and Debbie,
We just learned of the tragic loss of Adam. We are so sorry. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We enjoyed seeing you both at our Woodstock Class reunion here on Lake Norman in 2006. We had hoped to connect again and am sorry we didn't manage it. Please come and see us any time. Getting away to the lake can be so soothing.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this very sad time.

There is no greater loss than the loss of a child. I know all too well, for I lost a son Robert Walker 6 years ago. The boys were pretty close friends, and we know your pain all too well.
Our most deeptest consoldences and prayers for you and your family at this time.

Dave, Debbie and family,
I can’t begin to tell you the sadness in my heart over the loss of Adam. I can’t talk about Adam without speaking of Will they were one in my eyes.
Back when I first got to really know them was when you gave me the pleasure of baby-sitting them. These two boys where known for being mischievous and I was told I had my work cut out for me.
I will agree they were mischievous but it wasn’t work. What some would have called difficult I called entertaining. Each of these boys had minds of their own but yet they always came together and played off each other.
Early on I recognize that Adam had a big heart and Will was going to steal hearts. It played out to be just as I had thought.
Well, they both stole my heart and years later when I would see them they never missed the opportunity to come over and speak and give me a hug, even when other kids may not have thought it was cool.
My daughter, Loren, would joke and say I loved the Whetstones more than I loved her. She was right about one part I did and do love them. They both will always have a special place in my heart.
Adam when I get to heaven I expect a big hug first thing but for now, Will you have to hug me twice, once for yourself and once for Adam. Adam will live on in our hearts but he will live on through Will. The two are one.
I thank you, Debbie and Dave, for sharing your two precious boys with me. My life is better because of them. It was an honor to have baby-sat them and it is an honor to know them.
Will know my door is open if you need to talk and the same to the whole family.
Adam will be greatly missed and my thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family.
To Adam I say, “Good Knight”.
God Bless,
Gloria Trull

Heather called to tell me what had happen and the first thing that came to mind was Adam being a 12 year old boy because that was the time that I was the closest with the whole family. He was always happy and into sports and doing crazy things to make us laugh.
I'm truely sorry for everyone's loss and pray that God gives you the comfort that you need at this time. I love your family as if it were my own and so sorry that you are having to go through this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Adam was one of the most enjoyable kids to have been associated with during our son's years of baseball. I will always remember how he begged each one of us to let him pitch and always gave his best while filling all of our hearts with his good humor.

Deb, Dave and the rest of the family,
You have been in our thoughts so much over the last week. We can certainly not begin to feel your pain however we just have to remember Adams love of life to also feel a loss. He was always a beautiful child who was very loving. I remember Gloria saying that he would always give her a hug even when the rest of the kids thought it was uncool to hug an adult. Loren has said many times over the years how Adam had a heart of gold. He was always looking out for the one left out. He had one of the souls that felt others pain and needs. We will always remember Adam for his humor, kindness, and love of life. We could all enrich our lives if we took a page from Adams. We are big fans of Young Life and especially the Capernaum wing that focuses on high school children with special needs. I think Adam would be pleased that you chose this avenue to celebrate his life. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Our Love Carrie and Pete Craymer

Adam- Although you are in a better place, you are dearly missed. There was definitely only room in this world for one Adam Whetstone and it is worse off now that you are gone.
David, Debbie and Will- Through the thick and thin, you all raised a very strong, loving young man. He gave us all so many reasons to be proud to know him. I offer my sincere condolences and may God’s peace be as prevalent as the pain of your family’s loss during these times.

Dave and Debbie,
I never knew Adam but clearly remember how proud you were of both boys. In particular, I remember one evening when you stopped by Mom and Dad's in Charlotte when you were in town for a soccer tournament. My heart truly goes out to both of you and all who knew Adam. I wish you peace and comfort during this unbelievably tragic time.
