Mr Charles Burke was a down to earth man.
I talked to him on occasion when I was in radio.
He was so gracious and made me feel special.
He later came to hear a group I sang with, The Kings Prophets, at Southfork singing convention.
I recorded Mr Burke helping us sing " Just a little talk with Jesus."
If family reads this, I will try get you a copy.

My Husband, Robert and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Charlie Burkes's family. He was a man filled with compassion and a need to help those in need. When people spoke of his generosity and the "Love for His community", they would have a glow about them. Charlie, you will be missed. God will keep His arms around your family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Charles Burke family. He will be greatly missed by all of Maiden and surrounding areas. This past June, my foster dad of 33 years, Gary Parker, died. Only a few days before that, Gary's dad and mother(Cecil and Mossie Parker)died. And then Gary's uncle passed. Burke Mortuary was very busy! The one thing, though, that will always be in my mind when I hear anything about Charles Burke is this: In October 1989, our baby daughter, Amber Elizabeth, died, after fighting 2 and a half months(her entire life)to live. Charles Burke sang "Jesus loves Me" at her funeral. I don't remember much about those few days, but I DO remember that. I know God was smiling then, and I know he's smiling now, to have Charles singing in Heaven too. Charles, when you see little Amber(I know you will), Gary, Mossie, and Cecil, give them a big hug and kiss from all their family and friends here on earth. We'll all be together one day, I'm 100% certain of that!

Charles was a great man. He helped out my family. When my father-in-law died he gave us the money to go out of state. Ron had said we could not go because of the money. Charles stepped in and gave it to us. Later my father died and he was there again. He asked if we needed anything and if he could do anything. We told him prayers. He did that he said. Every time we saw him he would ask about the family. We will miss you Charles. Your family is in my prayers.

Charles was a good man. He helped us out when my father-in-law died. We did not have the money to go out of state for it. Charles came up and gave us the money. Then when my father died he was there and always asked if he could do anything. He was so kind. I will miss my friend. My prayers are with his family.

I have been friends with the Burke family all my life. To Charles and Carolyn: Where you saw one, you saw the other. You two are truly the meaning of Christian marriage and values. By your example, you raised 3 wonderful children. My heart is saddened. Charles and Carolyn have always been a ray of sunshine in my life. All of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. To Donna, my dearest friend since 1st grade, I'll always have the memories of spending time with your wonderful family. I love all of you.

Charles was a dear and precious friend to me. He helped me to further my knowledge and skills in music. He always had a story to tell and I was always ready to hear the advice he had to give me. He was one of a kind. I will miss him very much, but I know he is in a better place. My prayers go to all the family. I love you all.

I've known Charles since I was a kid. The Burke family were regular customers at the Parkway Restaurant (Parkway Grill) when I used to bus tables there on the weekend, and I worked for Charles when he owned Castaway's Seafood in Maiden. On the weekends at Castaway's, we would come in early and do all the "prep" work, then all the workers, Charles, his wife, and sons, would eat dinner together as a family. Precious memories, indeed.
