David Babin Obituary

HICKORY - David Seth Babin, 26, of Hickory, and longtime resident was received into the presence of God on Saturday, July 8, 2006. The beloved son of Patricia Babin of Centerville, Ohio, and Alan Babin of Schenectady, N.Y., David is also survived by his brother, Benjamin Babin of Hickory; a sister, Joy Babin of Centerville, Ohio; grandmother, Jean Chartrand and grandfather, Alexander Babin, both of Schenectady, N.Y.; four uncles, Dennis Babin of Fort Henry, N.Y., Michael Babin of Schenectady, N.Y., Douglas Gillies of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Greg Gillies of Ontario, Canada; two aunts, Diane Babin Schenectady, N.Y., and Laurel Richardson of Ontario, Canada; six cousins; two nephews; and a niece. David attended Dolgeville Central High School and graduated with honors in 1998 from Newton-Conover High School in North Carolina, with the honor of being in Who's Who Among High School Students. A talented musician, Dave loved anything that had strings and made music and used his talents with several area bands. We rejoice that he is at peace in his Father's house now playing music for the King of Kings. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006, at Exodus Missionary Outreach Church, 1763 Highland Ave., Hickory, 201-2999 or 437-0150. Donations in his honor can be sent to Miamisburg Christian Academy, 8500 S. Union Road, Miamisburg, Ohio 45342.

Hey David, I'm really glad you called me up that one day you were in NYC a couple years ago to meet up for lunch. That was the last time I saw you and what stood out to me most was your kindness and sense of humor. You'll be missed.

I'm sitting here reading everyone's entries and it is no surprise to me to hear how much David was loved and will be missed. He definitely held and will always hold a very special place in my heart. The sadness is truley overwhelming and uncontrolablabe.

My heart and soul knows that David is in heaven with our Lord, which does give me peace, but my flesh selfishly wants him back here with us.

I love you so much David and look forward to hearing your beautiful music in heaven. I just wish I could see you one last time- but even that wouldn't be enough.

Dave -

I'm still in shock that you got to be the first one in our family to meet Jesus!

It's gonna be hard not being able to call you and telling you stories about the kids and hearing your hearty laugh.

I will always treasure your letters and I will miss your quick wit and laughter. I'm very thankful that you were with me when I got turned on and your tears touched my heart.

You are forever embedded in my heart and in my thoughts. I love you Dave... yeah yeah yeah I know you don't like hearing that from your favorite sister. I will treasure my memories from sharing an apartment with you and your dirty pots and pans from your "gourmet" cooking. The shopping that we did together for groceries and the silly jokes about food at Food Lion.

I miss you... already...*sniff*

Love,

Joy

You couldn't help but notice David's bright spirit and his irrepressible enthusiasm for life. He was one of those pacesetters by whom we get a sense of whether we're giving life a pretty good go or whether we might consider picking up the pace a bit and show a little more gratitude to God.

There was no quarter in his estate for feeling bored or complacent. David's life was in motion, and it should come as no surprise that he shot right off the stage between the first and second act. Still, I am surprised, and I feel cheated. But David was not the sort of person who would sit around complaining while he waited for old age to wear him down.

I miss you, David

There is so much I want to say. I've known you all your life; and love your giving and compassionate heart. I remember all the meals you cooked for us, and can't wait to share The Great Banquet together. Save me a place at that table. I see you now, smiling and worshipping, making music with the angels!

Until that day, I miss you,

Roberta

There are no words that can adequately express my sorrow for your loss but you may find some comfort in the Scriptures. Isaiah 40:29-31

We met Dave through our daughter, Jana. He was a good friend to her. He had been over to our house several times with Jana and was always such a nice, well-mannered young man with a sweet smile.

Jana told us the news Wednesday morning. She is mourning the loss of a wonderful friend. We are so sad to hear of his passing but know that "Heaven's gain is our loss".

We are praying for the family that God's peace & comfort will be felt during this time.

In Christ,

As Dave's mother, there is no sorrow that compares to the loss of a child. But I know that my precious son is in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He has found eternal peace in His presence. Jesus said, "I am the ressurection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." John 11:25

David I only met you once, but you were a great guy. Your family and friends will miss and never forget you. May you dwell in the house of the Lord forever and may we all see you again someday...
