August 7, 1948 - June 18, 2025
Freda Joseph Davis, 76, of Hickory, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.
Born August 7, 1948, in Laurinburg, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Julia George Joseph.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Lytch; her brother-in-law, Jim Lytch; and their son, Jamie Lytch.
Freda was a dedicated member of St. Aloysius church. She graduated from Lenoir Rhyne and taught high school in Caldwell County. She then went on to work for over 15 years at Caldwell Christian Ministries as Associate Director helping many families and individuals where she is still remembered very fondly. After her retirement Freda took art classes and discovered that she had a natural talent as a painter.
She enjoyed horseback riding, beach trips with her family and travelling with her sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marc C. Davis; son, Chris Davis; sister, Judy Andrews (Bruce); brother, Fred Joseph (Donna); a niece, Mary Kay Lytch; nephews: Fred (Trey) Joseph, III, and Andy Andrews (Laura), and their children: Cecilia, Teresa, Tripp and Rosie.
The funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in St. Sebastian Chapel at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father Amaro Saumell officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 921 2nd Street, NE, Hickory, N.C. 28601.

Truly sorry to learn of her passing and my thoughts and prayers for Marc, Chris and rest of the family.
I remember how excited Marc was to tell me he had found someone special and meeting her for the first time. She was indeed a special lady. RIP.
