Geraldine "Geri" Molina NEWTON Geraldine "Geri" Roy Molina, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 3, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Newton. At her request, no public service will be held. A private inurnment ceremony will be at a later date. Geri was born Oct. 14, 1937 in Damar, Kans., the daughter of Oscar E. and Alice (Morel) Roy. She grew up and attended schools in the Stockton and Plainville, Kans. communities. Geri spent much of her adult life in the warmth and sunshine of California, gardening and raising house plants and reading. Rarely was she seen without a good book in hand. Geri drove a school bus for special needs children for many years, until her bus was struck from the rear. Injuries she received in the resulting crash forced her to retire. Geri moved to North Carolina in 2003 to live with her daughter, Jana, where she resided until the time of her passing. Geri was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Ann and Dorothy Roy and Joann Hollingsworth; brothers, Tom, Roy and Doug Griffin; and her beloved son, Steven Patrick Lucero. Geri is survived by her daughter, Jana Tillson and husband, Mark, of Newton; three sons, Bruce Horner, of Lompoc, Calif., Gregg Horner and wife, Leslie, of Bend, Ore., and Michael Lucero, of Las Vegas, Nev; sister, Mary Ann Barnhart, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brother, Arthur Roy and wife, Rhonda, of Douglas, Wyo.; two granddaughters, Ashley and Amanda Tillson; three grandsons, Kelly Farrell, Sean Horner and Bryan Horner; two great-granddaughters, Ava and Chloe; and great-grandson, Tristan.
