Martha Jarrett Obituary
June 11, 1931 - February 5, 2023
Martha Bowman Jarrett, 91, of Newton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023. A native of Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Adrian Curtis Bowman and Lena Evelyn Winebarger Bowman. Mrs. Jarrett was a member of Beth Eden Lutheran Church where she was part of the Women of the ELCA. She was an avid golfer, but will mainly be remembered as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished nothing more than being surrounded by her family.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her two brothers, Donald and Sterling Bowman.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ned Miller Jarrett; sons, Glenn N. Jarrett of Conover, and Dale A Jarrett of Scottsdale, Ark.; daughter, Patti J. Makar and her husband, Jimmy, of Statesville; sister, Revonda Rockett of N. Wilkesboro; six grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Christina, Natalee, Karsyn, Dillon, Alex and her husband, Brian, Zachary; one great-grandchild, Ford; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Beth Eden Lutheran Church, 400 N Main Ave., Newton, NC 28658.
The family would like to thank Carolina Caring for their service as well as the caregivers, who cared for Martha so well.

I was fortunate to meet Martha when I became a member of Catawba CC. Martha was a very gracious and loving lady with a quick wit which often led to uncontrollable laughter as we walked 18 holes of golf. She was a beautiful Southern lady.
