July 30, 1961 - September 22, 2023
Sally Ritch Phillips left us peacefully September 22 nd , 2023 at age 62. Her smile and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her. Her devotion to her children was unparalleled as well as her care for special needs preschool children in her 16 plus years teaching in Catawba county. In addition to being mom to her own she also loved being "Band Mom" to the teenagers that would gather at Miss Sally's house.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Elizabeth Bryant.
Those who are left to cherish her memory, Billy J Phillips, husband of 37 years. Father and step-mother Robert
Eugene Ritch, Dawn Allred. Daughter and son-in-law Ellen Settlemyre, Joshua. Sons Kevin Phillips, Neal Phillips. Sister and brother-in-law Martha Moore, Christopher. One niece and five nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, 2 p.m. at Jenkins Funeral Home.

Please accept my sincere condolences! Sally was as sweet and kind as her Grandmother Ritch who was the conduit through which I came to know all of my cousins in other cities. Sally certainly knew how to love and accept the same!

Sally defines my memories of our 35 year friendship thru her bright, beautiful smile and unmatched laughter. Whenever our families gathered for games, cookouts, parties or home remodeling projects she always infused the event with her incredible laughter. Of course, music was constantly playing in the background as we all talked and simply enjoyed one another´s families, and suddenly her deep laughter would explode with her chin thrust up and her head thrown back. A beautiful sight that captures the simple joy of just being together. That infectious laughter will forever define her sweetness and positive nature. When I became a single parent, Sally naturally expanded her mothering skills to include my children with equal care and love. Her generous support and courage are legacies that will forever be cherished by my family.

To know Sara "Sally "Phillips was to Love her. She lived for everyone else and always put her needs and wants last. She was the most hardworking co-worker but more than that a friend + well except the part that she rooted for UNC chapel Hill- a college where my son now goes for music) I loved her anyways. she lived her kids and her husband BIGger than life and spoke of them all fondly. When life dealt cards that weren't exactly wonderful Sally still was a trooper and made life wonderful for everyone else as best she could still caring, loving and like Always. The owl is a picture of my wish to have an owl like her in her back yard. He'd come often and she'd get the best pictureS of him. A great person, photographer , lover of Family and her Sister and her dearest Dad she too loved recipe books. . . While as random as that all seems thru the years if you met Sally even once you definitely would always remember her as Sweet Sara Sally Phillips. may you rest in Peace and know you touched many
