John David Geeson

1932 - 2023

John David Geeson, a 77-year resident in Morongo Valley, died Nov. 22, 2023, at the age of 91.
The son of William Godfrey Geeson and Rhoda Matilda Kibby, John was born on March 2, 1932, in Watertown New York.
John was drafted into the Army and served 1952-1954. After being honorably discharged, he served six years in the Army Reserves.
John started his plumbing career in 1957. In 1959, he joined the Pipe Trades Local Union 364 and was a member for 64 years, receiving a Gold Lifetime Membership. He retired in 1994.
John volunteered for the Morongo Valley Fire Department for over 20 years, was an avid bowler and loved to fish, play horseshoes and travel. He treasured spending time with his family and was so proud of the growing "Geeson Clan of Morongo."
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Godfrey Geeson and Rhoda Matilda Kibby, his sister Ruth Reche, his young brother James, and the love of his life, Erma.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharen Scott, and son-in-law, John, his son, Jim Geeson, and daughter-in-law, Virginia, and grandchildren Tracey Madden and husband Mike, Michael Scott, Lauren Sage and husband Jerremy, Ethan Geeson and wife Bianca and Tyler Geeson and wife Kaylin. He was blessed with great-grandchildren Hailey Larich and husband Sonny, Jazmin and Breanna Scott, Abigail Geeson and Emily and Everrett Sage, great-great-grandchildren Amberlynn and Jolene Larich, brothers Paul Geeson and Phil Geeson and sister-in-law Gay, and sister Regina and brother-in-law Jerry, plus numerous nephews and nieces.
A celebration of life will be held at Covington Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2024. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to the Morongo Valley Fire Department in John Geeson's name.
