Danny Ware Obituary

Danny Lee Ware, 65, of Holland, formerly of Midland, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2017. Dan was the son of Ernie and Peg Ware and grew up in Midland where he graduated from MHS in 1971. He was active in sports all his life and loved, and was especially proud, of watching his son play football and his daughters playing volleyball. He was always the "armchair" coach for the Detroit Lions and maybe it would have been good, at times, if they could have heard his "play calling!"
Dan will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jamie (Scott Wargo) Ware; and grandchildren, Blake and Danika of Freeland; and his son, Dan (Angela) Ware; and granddaughter, Alayna, of Midland; and his daughters, Alissa (Derek) Vanderploeg and Krista Ware of Holland; his sister, Holly (Ed) Hallberg, and his brother, Hal (Diana) Ware, and a niece and nephew; a special aunt, Elaine Hooghuis and her family, all of Midland. He is also survived by his former wives, and loving mothers to their children, Karen (Ross) Brousseau, and Astra (Skostins) Ware, and by cousins in Bear Lake. He was predeceased by his parents and grandparents, Charles and Louise Ware and Fred and Tillie Wareham.
Dan had a passion for nature, hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cottage in Bear Lake, Michigan. It was there that he went to hunt and fish with his Dad, brother, son and daughters and just to spend some quiet time making memories and enjoying time with his family.
Because Bear Lake was such a special place for him, the family is planning to gather there at a later date to celebrate Dan's life. He is gone from our sight, but not from our memory and will always have a place in our hearts.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Dan's passing. He and I enjoyed spending time together in our "boxing" days and he was a talented fighter. I will always remember him. Eric Ostergren

David and I are very sad to hear of Dan's death. I remember hunting mushrooms, playing in the hay mow, talking and laughing about many things throughout the years. He was tenderhearted, fun-loving and loved his children SO much! We have all lost a loving family member and friend. Keep your memories close to your hearts and he will never be far away. Our love and prayers to you all. Sally King and David Reed

I was lucky to know Dan, moved in next door to the Wares when I was 5 years old. I loved going fishing with Dan, watching or talking about sports and hunting, just hanging out and drinking a beer. He loved his kids and family. Dan always wanted to be a good dad.Holly and Hal have always been great friends to our family. I am very sorry for your loss. His humor, his heart, his athletic ability, there was no one else like Dan. Proud to be his friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Dan's passing. He was an old friend that I'd lost touch with and it sickens me that I was just thinking about him two months ago and wanted to call him. He was fondly known to us as "Mr. Mist", I will never forget his zest for life, infectious laugh and that radio smooth voice! I met him at the time he and Astra started dating. My thoughts are with her and the family, I wasn't aware that they had divorced. I'll hold on to the memories, photos and good times. Peace be with you Danny!
