Nancy Bos Obituary

Nancy K. (VanRegenmorter) Bos, 81, of Hudsonville, MI, passed away on February 25, 2021, due to complications with cancer. Born to Hubert and Catherine VanRegenmorter of Jamestown on October 19, 1939, Nancy, who spent a lifetime praying for her family and friends, had loving blue eyes, a keen mind, and a passion for the Lord. She was preceded in death by her gentle, loving husband David Bos by seven months. They had been married 59 years. She leaves behind her three children, Michael (Cheryl) Bos of Hudsonville, Jane Bos of Jenison, and Jackie (Doug) Roskamp of Holland; and nine grandchildren: David, Christian, and Svetlana Bos, and Catherine "Catie", Joseph, and Anna Luimes, and Abigail, Danielle, and Victoria "Tori" Roskamp. All their hearts are breaking as they say goodbye to their precious Grandma. She was a wonderful role model, cheerleader, and friend to them all. Nancy also was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-laws, Myrtle and Henry Bos, of Holland; her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Roger VanKlompenberg of Jamestown; and her sister-in-law, Mary Brill. Surviving are her siblings-in-law, Dawn (Jerry) Bredeweg of Holland; and her brother-in-law, Richard Brill of Grandville; as well as several nieces and nephews. Nancy graduated from Unity Christian in 1957, and earned her Bachelor's degree from Calvin College (1961). She spent 31 years teaching girls physical education and serving as a counselor at Hudsonville Christian Middle School (1969-2000), impacting the lives of thousands of students. She loved them all, and cared for the total well-being of each individual. Her many friends will attest to her faithfulness to her Savior and her willingness to cover them in constant prayer. Nancy also coached the Hudsonville Unity Christian's girls tennis team in the 1970's and played travel tennis and softball, giving her daughters a shining example of what girls can do. She was also known for digging out power tools and tackling projects, like fixing the dryer, and saving her family from spiders. She left a legacy of laughter and determination for all her children and grandchildren. Her family plans to hold a private, faith-filled funeral service on Saturday, March 6. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hudsonville Christian School, 3485 Oak St., Hudsonville, MI 49426. Condolences may be sent on line at mkdfuneralhome.com

So sorry for the loss of your mom. I remember her well. She was my mom’s cousin. I was told she was in My mom and dad’s wedding in 1944. I also remember your dad. He also was a very sweet and loving person as well as your mom. As hard as it is to have them both gone you can find comfort knowing they are together again without Lord and Savior.

My prayers our with you as you morn the loss of you mom. Nancy was a great colleague and friend. She showed her love for her students and her Lord everyday. It was very evident that Nancy was called to be a teacher because she loved coming to work everyday. I have many great memories of teaching with with your mom. My sincere condolences to the entire Bos family in the the passing of both Dave and now Nancy. I have such wonderful memories of our families traveling and camping together- Pheasant Run, and camping at Lake Michigan. Games of Long Ball were especially exciting. Your parents were always so much fun, with constant smiles and kind encouragement to a clumsy girl. May you find comfort in your sadness and joy in the beautiful memories of your dear parents. Well done thou good and faithful servants .

Nancy was one of our shining stars of the class of 57 of Unity Christian. When I visited them just before COVID, they were so devoted to each other. They truly served and loved our Lord.
