Archie 'Jerry' Gerald Balkcom

Mr. Archie 'Jerry' Gerald Balkcom, age 84, of Bonifay, Florida passed away July 27, 2021, at Boswell Manor Assisted Living Facility in Bonifay. He was born August 12, 1936, in Noma, Florida to the late Zelotes Balkcom and Gladys Bell Balkcom. In addition to his parents, Mr. Balkcom was preceded in death by his wife, Angelita Balkcom, three brothers, Howard Balkcom, Millard 'Junior' Balkcom, and Tommy Balkcom, and two sisters, Agnes Ard and Mildred George.

Mr. Balkcom is survived by one son, Jerry Balkcom and wife Connie Spears Balkcom of Middletown, VA; two daughters, Rosemary Balkcom and companion Bill Harrell of Panama City, FL and Elizabeth Kirk and husband, Bryson Kirk of Bonifay, FL; four grandchildren, David Benjamin Balkcom and wife Brittany, Sarah Balkcom Garris and husband Chase, Melea Kirk Corbin and husband Zachary, and Zane Kirk; four great-grandchildren, Colton Balkcom, Madelyn Balkcom, Everett Garris, and Laurel June Garris; one sister, Dorothy Budd; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Lauen and Rev. Gary Medlock officiating. Interment followed in the Bonifay Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home directing. The family received friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 PM at Peel Funeral Home.
