Gary Naquin Obituary
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland and will continue from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, April 21, 2017, at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial to follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mercedes Vedros Naquin; son, Patrick Naquin (Jeanie); daughter, Stacey Cazes (Jody); brothers, Mark Naquin, Dwight Naquin (Cheryl) and Bert Naquin (Lorraine); sisters, Grace N. Daigle and Fannie N. Tomlin (Wayne); grandchildren, Victoria Naquin Dupuis (Jonathan), Alex Naquin, Hunter Cazes and Cody Cazes; one great-grandchild on the way; brothers-in-law, Clyde Duplantis and Wilbert Vedros; and sister-in-law, Betty Vedros.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dovie and Nezia Naquin; sister, Raley N. Duplantis; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Bernice Vedros; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Vedros and Harry Daigle.
Gary served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed Cajun dancing and culture. Gary was retired from North American Shipbuilding. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred.
Falgout Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

I am so sad to hear of Parran's passing. He was such a kind man and always had a smile for everyone. He was my friend, and I chatted with him often at NAS. He will be missed.

I loved Mr. Gary he was my dads long time friend, way back when they worked at Coastal Dragline in Lockport. And then again I saw him at North American. He was always so kind and always spoke French to me and told me of stories of my dad (Wesley Fitch). My dad was from Pointe Au Chene also. What I will always remind is the time I listen to his stories about his friend my dad, and most important he was an Honest loving man, he was a hard working man. As a child I don't remember a lot of my dads closes friends but my Gary would see me at work and always remind me a story or a special time he had with my dad. I will miss him and now he is in Heaven with my dad and our families. I will always cherish the time I had with Mr. Gary as a grown up because he reminded what is important in life. Love for God, Love for Family, Love for Service, Honesty and Hard Work, Love for friends, Simply things. He always hugs me and I knew he loved me and my dad ( Wesley Fitch). I will truly miss him.
