Gertrude Walling Obituary
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time today at Annunziata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, William Gerard Walling, Kenneth James Walling Sr. and wife, Debbie, Craig Anthony Walling and wife, Clara, Douglas Paul Walling Sr., and Brian Michael Walling and wife, Virginia; daughters, Sharon Ann Walling, Gayle Marie Walling Domangue and husband, Darryl, and Pamela Ann Walling; sister, Stella Dupre Duplantis; grandchildren, Kenneth Walling Jr., Shawn Walling, Kevin LeBlanc, Keith LeBlanc, Kayci LeBlanc Longon, Brittany Guilbeaux Carter, Heather Walling Cernich, Jennifer Walling Neville, Douglas Walling Jr., Matthew Walling, Kimberly Domangue, Alicia Domangue, and Chad Boudreaux; and great-grandchildren, Ambrosia Walling, Auston LeBlanc, Tyler Welch, Trevor LeBlanc, Mallory LeBlanc, Zachary Longon, Taylor Longon, Hayden Longon, Brianna Carter, Michael Cernich, Haleigh Cernich, Jacob Neville, Madelyn Neville, Jackson Neville, Jayce Pellegrin, Neamiah Boudreaux, and Naomi Boudreaux.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Gerard Edward Walling; parents, Lovancie Dupre and Emilie Labit Dupre; grandchild, Jessica Lynn Domangue; brothers, Alton J. Dupre and wife, Lily, Ammend Dupre and wife, Cecile, and Walton Dupre and wife, Mable; and sisters, Mabel Dupre Bergeron and husband, Bill, and Odessa Dupre Babin and husband, Wiley.
Gerturde was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. She was part of a military family for 17 years. She enjoyed fishing and loved their camp.
The family would like to thank all the family and friends for the many prayers and thoughts throughout her illness. Thanks goes to the TGMC staff, the doctors and staff that provided her care, Acadian Ambulance, especially Kevin and Lucas, the Baton Rouge Hospice Staff and Father Mike Tran of Annunziata Church who provided her spiritual support for many years until her last days.

Kenneth, Craig and all the Walling family, I am truly sorry to hear of Trudy's passing. I know she will be greatly missed by you and her many friends. She and my late wife Tess were girlhood friends as well as in New Orleans, and Whitey was the best man at our wedding. May God comfort all of you in your time of sorrow.

Ms. Walling was so kind and always had a smile when we came to visit. She was a matriarch of one of the most loving families that John and I have ever met. Rest in peace Ms. Walling.
