Merlin Thomas Pontiff Obituary
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time on Friday, September 7, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial following in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his mother, Beulah L. Pontiff; son, Justin Beau Pontiff; sisters, Brenda (Danny) P. Ledet, and Linda (James) P. Sebastien; nieces, Camille S. Perry and Stephanie Ledet; nephew, Ben J. Ledet; great-niece, Chase " CC" Perry.
He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin J. Pontiff Sr.; brother, Irvin J. "Rocky" Pontiff Jr.; paternal grandparents, Clinton and Lelia Pontiff; and maternal grandparents, Morris and Linda LeBlanc.
Merlin was a Harley Davidson motorcycle lover and especially loved riding with his friends and cousins and spending time with his son Beau. He loved and was always kind to all animals especially his dog, "Dee Dee". Throughout his battle with cancer, Merlin was surrounded by friends and family who were there to help in any way and to give him moral support.
The family would like to thank Journey Hospice for the excellent care given to Merlin during his illness and also to family members and friends who always called to check on him and to offer their prayers and encouragement.
A special thank you to his first cousin, Tony LeBlanc, who was always there for Merlin, and was a constant caregiver as well as special friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lafourche Parish Animal Shelter, 934 LA-3185, Thibodaux, LA 70301.
Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bro I only met you when you came with Tony to look at my old 72' Shovel. Tony called you an expert on Shovels. Totally enjoyed the visits with great stories. Heart goes to you family & Heart full caring to help Tony keep going as his best friend takes the main road up stairs.

Merlin was a kind and caring person. He was like a big brother to me , I will miss him but I have some wonderful memories to treasure.
