In the early hours of December 8th, Allen Royce Till was welcomed into the loving arms of his Savior — marking the end of his long battle with cancer.
Allen was a lifetime Houstonian from his first breath on September 18, 1956. He attended Northwest Academy before following in his parents' footsteps — first to Rice University (like his mother) and then on to University of Houston Law School (like his father).
Allen went on to have an illustrious law career that would span decades, but those who knew him best would tell you that his true joy was always building. He was happiest when creating something with his hands, repairing things others saw as lost, or pursuing his second passion — hunting. Allen was an avid hunter from an early age and shared this love for the outdoors (and the deer blind) with his sons.
Allen was a kind and quiet leader. He loved his family, his city, babies, dogs, George Strait, and later in life, KSBJ.
Dedicated in his Christian faith, Allen was a board member at Life Pointe Church and was actively involved there. His faith was evident to all as he continued to serve, attend worship services, and praise God throughout his illness. He is undoubtedly joyful to be reunited in heaven with those who have gone on before him.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents Allene and Royce R. Till. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his beloved sons — Stephen Till (and wife Lauren) and George Till — and step-sons, Jason Clark and Brian Clark (and wife Taylor). Also left behind to cherish his memory are his siblings —Marla Hamblen (and husband Tolar), Brian Till, and Marsha Giammalva (and husband Charlie).
A memorial service will be held for Allen on Sunday, December 12 at 2:00 pm. It will be at Life Pointe Church, 19506 Vicksburg Blvd., Missouri City, TX 77459.
