Hello, I know this is very delayed, but I was thinking of David today and looked him up and found out about his passing. I am in the Air Force, and in November 2015, David came to Washington DC to take part in the Honor Flight event where he got to visit various monuments culminating in the WW2 Memorial. I was lucky enough to be his Honor Flight Guardian, and he made a very big impact on me. That weekend was very special for me as a military member, and I was so glad to get to be there with him as he visited the Memorial. He was so kind, and we had a great time getting to know each other. I met his grandson Adam at the event dinner, and that was neat too. I sent David a photo book with the pictures of us from the Honor Flight weekend, and I hope you in his family keep that as a reminder of that special event for him. I hope you are doing well, many months now after his passing. He was a great man.
Sincerely,
Nicole Kump

David's parents and my parents were acquainted and active members of the small Jewish community of Houston from the 1920's to the 1950's by which time the population had grown. David and I became acquainted about 1970 when I began my years on the Texas A & M Hillel Board. Over many years, well into the 1990's I would look forward to visiting with David at College Station.
David was a gentleman always. David was proud of his Jewish heritage and sincerely felt the need for our Hillel to continue to live. He was an example of living life that I hope all his grandchildren and great grandchildren will regard as their standard.

As a highschool friend of Tina's, I saw David Leff at various breakfast spots around town throughout my business career. He always had a big smile and funny story. I will miss him.
