David Lesco Obituary

David A. Lesco
1945-2017
David Andrew Lesco, 72, died Saturday, October 14, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Weekley, a son, Greylan A. Lesco (Taksaorn "Lindsay"), and a daughter, Ashly ("Sky") Lesco; sisters Margaret Black (Tom), Jo Anne Taylor (Bruce), Virginia Dobson (Patrick), and Karen Kendrick; four nieces and four nephews; many other relatives, and a host of friends. David was born in Wichita, Kansas on September 21, 1945, to Vera and Luther Rominger. After his father was killed in action during the Korean Conflict, David's mother married Albert Lesco, who adopted David and his sister Margaret. The family moved to Independence, Kansas in 1955, where David graduated from high school and attended community college.
David participated in many sports as a youth, and was a star athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. Under Coach Kayo Emmot, David belonged to a state championship football team that never lost a game throughout his playing career. The friendships formed among "Kayo's Boys" continued to be important to David throughout his life. In 1974, David moved to Katy, Texas. There, together with his business partner Ron W. Brown, he established Downhole Pipe and Equipment Company, L.P., where he remained as CEO until his death. David was generous and loved helping others to realize their own potential. He wasn't interested in giving handouts, but made investments in people's lives. Those investments paid off in dividends of friendships and lives that were changed for the better for knowing David. His faith in God, his commitment to sobriety, and his deep love for his family and friends set him apart. Peace be to his memory. Memorial Services for David Lesco will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in David's name.
