George Straty Obituary

George Straty passed away peacefully at home December 2, 2013. George was born August 17, 1923 in Los Angeles, Ca to Arefa and Manya Straty. Left to cherish their memories are his loving wife, Barbara of 62 years, his sons, Wayne Straty and wife Becky; Stephen Straty and wife, Laurie Jo; daughter, Cheryl and husband Jim. Grandchildren, Shannon Straty, Shayne Williams and husband Ryan; Caroline Straty, Claire Straty, Derek Rowe and wife Kristyn and Devon Rowe. Great grandchildren Carter Rowe and Bradie Williams. He is also survived by brother in laws Neal Wallach and Susan and Bruce Wallach and Harriet. A WWII veteran, George was awarded the Purple Heart for his service to his country. A long time resident of the Clear Lake/NASA community, he retired from Lockheed Martin after 45 years in the aerospace industry. The family would like to thank his caregiver Kathy Brown. A private family memorial will be held. In loving memory of "George" memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus at www.hospicecompassus.com.
