Hershel Edward Clauder born June 4, 1929 to Sam and Margaret Clauder, died August 24 2022 in Surprise, Arizona. Hershel was a 3rd generation native Houstonian. In 1932 he was crowned "Houston's most handsome boy baby", and received a 34" tall engraved Trophy! He graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1945 and went on to finish college at The University of Houston, with an Engineering degree. Hershel left Houston area later when he was an Engineer on the Saturn Rocket, at Nasa's Space Center and ended up in California where he made his home for many years, finally retiring to Arizona. Hershel was a talented musician, at the Piano, as well as Accordion, and Trombone, among several other instruments. Hershel is survived by his son, Sam Clauder II, of Hollywood California and his sister Elaine Clauder Van Horn of Rockdale, Texas. HE is also survived by 3 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his wife, Marilyn in October of 2021 and a daughter, Cynthia Kahn and a son, Gregory Clauder.
A special tribute to his life will be held in Houston on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Cy-Fair Christian Church, 9730 Grant Rd, Houston w/ Pastor Kevin Gallemore presiding.
