My father Roy, was very close friends with both Jim and Farrah.
Actually my dad helped save Jim’s business back in the day during a hard time. My dad always shared the story about how Ryan called my dad to express his gratitude and appreciation for saving Jim’s business. As Ryan put it: a happy Jim makes a happy Farrah! And a happy Farrah makes me happy Dad always told me about the incredible devotion and love that Farrah had for her father Jim. I remember dad telling me: Jim was quite a character with a good sense of humor I, personally had two chances to meet Farrah. Sadly due to one thing or another, it never happened. So dad asked Farrah for this great autograph picture: Erik, with love and kisses, and regards to your dad too, Farrah Farrah certainly made Jim proud!
I only wish I could’ve met both Mr. Fawcett and His beautiful daughter, Farrah. They both had every right to be proud of each other ! May they Rest In Peace.

After reading all the wonderful memories of James and his family, I know this was a family that was dearly loved by so many. I was just reading about Farrah on line, when I stumbled on the news that her father had passed a short time after she did.
My deepest sympathy is extended to all of his family. Farrah was one extraordinary beauty of whom I admired. Thank you for sharing the memories of her father, James. My eyes are wet from tears, but I did feel the warmth, love, and joy in each one of the messages as well.

I called him Jim. He was quite a character with a great sense of humor. I first met him at a bank in Houston that I worked for. He owned the service that would take care of janitorial needs at the bank. He brought Farrah to the bank and took a group of us went to Pizza Hut on FM 1960 and we all had lunch with Farrah. I left the bank after several years but would continue to see him around the neighborhood. He was so much fun! The last time I saw him before Pauline's death, was in a doctors office with Pauline, we had a nice little reunion. I had no way of knowing that it was the last time I'd see him. Rest in peace Jim, Pauline, Diane, and Farrah. I feel so special to have known all of you.

RIP Uncle Jimmy, You will be greatly missed! Even though I only seen you a few times your stories you told gave my mother, father and our family great laughs. You were such a joy to bbe around, always a beautiful smiling face, nothing but kindness and quite the jokester! Im glad that our Heavenly Father has taken you home to be with the rest of your family and you will feel no pain no more, your suffering is done with. Now our heavenly father can have many laughs! I know you are and wil always be greatly missed and always remembered, for you were so dear to my mother and father and brother, they were so lucky to spend the time they did with you. I know you were greeted by aunt Pauline, Diane, and farrah and I know my father couldnt wait for you to get to heaven so he could see his dearest friend! I was surfing the Internet tonight and just found out about this. Even though I never met Farrah, I still have her poster (yes!) and her autograph through my mother (they met at my mother's work). I even remember Farrah from her early television commercials. From what I know about Mr. Fawcett, he himself was a remarkable person and a joy to be around. He was, by all accounts, a wonderful father and, frankly, the father I wish I had. I would have loved to hear some of his stories, especially about the Texas oil business! Even though his later years were filled with sorrow over the loss of his first wife and his daughters and the struggles his grandson Redmond has had, at least now he is in a better place, reunited with Pauline and the daughters who both died too soon. I am happy to see that Mike Pingel and Craig Nevius, both of whom worked with Farrah, posted messages here.

Daddy Jimbo's passing has been so hard. He was like a 2nd dad to me especially when Farrah & I were younger. Farrah loved her daddy so much & she & I sat up many late nights sharing special memories of our parents especially of times with her dad. She said: "Daddy I want Melissa to call you Daddy Jimbo. We loved joining him in hunting etc. Farrah & I are very sports oriented & her dad often practiced sports with us years back training us with the skills we needed to practice to be more competitive. The world has lost a very special man. Daddy Jimbo I miss your smiling face. In Farrah's Honor I repeat her words she expressed to you: " You gave me life & you were the greatest dad around." Farrah said it all so I'll end with her words & add some of my own: Thank you Daddy Jimbo for giving your GREATEST BLESSING Farrah. With Love Eternal until we meet again.

I am so glad that Rodney and I were able to visit with you and Sofia in your home last December. Our families friendship since the early 1930's started with living next door to each other in Corpus Christi. Recalling a few of my memories: When Pauline was upset and cut your bathing suit into two pieces to prevent you from going swimming without her, because she couldn't go due to her pregnancy with Diane; attending school, swimming and dancing lessons with Diane, going to Pauline's "Come as you are" breakfasts, both you and Pauline coming by the house on Sunday nights for coffee, Farrah spending her high school summers with us in Concan, Texas, just to name a few. Our on-going lifetime friendship has been what wonderful memories are made of! I shall never forget them, or your beautiful smile!

Even though his daughter was one of the most famous people in the world, Jim was never known as "Farrah Fawcett's father." Instead, Farrah was known as "Jim Fawcett's daughter." At least to the people who knew them. Farrah often told me that "Daddy" was the real star of the family. And with his outgoing nature and outrageous sense of humor, it was easy to see why Jim was a "star" -- although he once told me that he was "too pretty" to be photographed. Jim Fawcett's colorful stories and distinctly Texan sayings made him a combination of Mark Twain and John Wayne. He was (and will remain) unforgettable to all who knew him. My thoughts are with Mrs. Fawcett, his brother Daryl, and his grandson Redmond.

She had "her Father's eyes, eyes full of compassion, seeing every pain, knowing what you are going through and feeling it the same." (Amy Grant/Gary Chapman) Farrah Fawcett's great success was also due to good parenting and great DNA. I thought she looked exactly like her dad. You could see their great compassion in the work for the American Cancer society and in Farrah's story.
Sleep softly now, it is your turn to rest.

Daddy Fawcett, the news of your passing has brought a dark shadow over my day.

I will always remember your deep Texan voice, quip remarks, and the early morning phone calls to wake Farrah up. She loved you so much and as you loved her. I’m sure you are in heaven with you're girls enjoying a freshly baked pie by Farrah & Pauline.

My deepest sympathies go out to Redmond, Sophie and the rest of the Fawcett family. May you watch over them from above and rest in peace.
