My fondest memory of Mr. Hawthorne would be his wonderful smile and winning personality. I had the honor to take care of him at commerce hospital. My thoughts and prayers are with you all throughout this time. God Bless you and your family.

Dearest Barbara and Joan,
I was so sad to learn of your dad's death and send you my heartfelt sympathy. I adored your dad and mom. They were such great friends to my parents. I remember once eating dinner with you all, and your dad said to chew each bite 25 times and then swallow. He asked me if I'd swallowed yet after I chewed 25 times, and I had to tell him that it disappeared. I'm sure he laughed, but I was afraid he'd be mad at me. I wasn't afraid after that. Guess we all got a chuckle over that one. I remember as well being afraid of the tree shadows on the window one time when I slept over, and your mom called Mother to come get me. I never was good at staying somewhere else overnight. What a scaredy-cat I was!

If you get a chance, please drop me an email. My husband Charlie and I live in Frisco--2474 Angel Falls Dr. My phone number is 214-618-3458. Email is [email protected].

I'd love to visit with both of you. Your mom and dad were such great friends.

Jodie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. I got to know your grandfather while attending ET and working for Coaches Matthews and Hawkins. Dr. Hawthorne was a wonderful man and I dearly loved him. We also served United Way together in the mid to late 90's. Much love to you all...
