Jimmy Lay Obituary

Jimmy Nolan Lay
1943-2017
Jimmy Nolan Lay, 73, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully early morning on February 13, 2017 with his beloved family by his side. Jimmy was born on July 22, 1943 in Angleton, Texas. He graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School in 1961. He briefly attended Stephen F. Austin College before serving in the US Army stationed in Italy. Jimmy was an all-around athlete well into adulthood. He loved playing fast pitch softball and basketball. At the same time he was a faithful Houston Oilers and Texans fan and never missed a game. Later in life Jimmy loved playing golf especially with his longtime friend John Walters.
Lovingly known to his family as Pop, Jimmy is preceded by his father and sister Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Janelle; his daughters, Raynelle, Jacy and Jaime; son Kerry and son-in-law Alyn. He is also survived by his grandkids Jacob, Tracey, Connor, Alyson, Dalon, Karys, Kara and Kacee; brother Toy and sisters Debbie and Dorothy Elaine. Pop and I want our three girls, Raynelle, Jacy and Jaime, to know how much help you all were to us on this long journey – Thank heaven for little girls.
A funeral service will be 2PM, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Klein Funeral Home. The family will greet friends 1-2PM.

Remembering my Brother

Jordan Murray

September 1, 2017

Mr. Lay was a patient of mine at Sam's Club Pharmacy in Jersey Village. He was truly a kind, gentle, and peaceful soul. I couldn't hold back tears when I heard of his passing. His illness took him far too soon. I still miss seeing him every week or so at the pharmacy!

My sincerest condolences to the Lay family.
