John Chase Obituary

John "Jake" Chase
10/09/1959 - 06/23/2024
John "Jake" Chase, 64, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully, on June 23, 2024. The son of Leo and Eileen Chase, Jake grew up with five siblings in Sudbury, Mass.
Jake loved life and truly lived it to the fullest. He developed many close relationships that spanned decades and he loved traveling with friends to his favorite retreat in Cabo. He also enjoyed holidays on Cape Cod with his parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Jake had a big heart and a smile that could make troubles disappear. He appreciated the many blessings that he enjoyed and was well known for giving back - always there for those in need of a helping hand. Jake was a big believer in the golden rule, and he honored that principle in the unselfish way that he lived his life. He rarely allowed others to pick up a tab and his generosity with service staff at his favorite restaurants is legendary.
Soon after graduating from Bentley, Jake arrived in Houston in 1982. Quickly realizing that he wasn't cut out for a cubicle, he decided to start out on his own. Jake created several successful ventures in the decades that followed. He was a quick study with uncanny street smarts, and people were always drawn to his positive energy and quick wit.
Jake was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Eileen; and his brother Doug. He leaves behind his son, Chase; brothers, Ted and Tim; sister, Paula; and brother-in-law, Chuck; and his brother, Drew; and sister-in-law Cheryl; along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Jake's friends will be hosting a Celebration of Jake's Life on July 11th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Ducky McShweeney's Pub - 2025 Post Oak Blvd.
