Martha Villalobos Obituary

Martha Balderrama Villalobos
1958-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Martha B. Villalobos announces her passing on April 22.
Martha was born and raised in San Antonio. In 1982 she came to Houston and found her dream job of Patient Care Coordinator at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She provided nurturing and compassionate care, especially to Spanish speaking patients. Saddened when her program was cut in 1995, she joined the sales team of the Marriott Medical Center Hotel. With her heart set on helping those battling illness, she set her goals on championing affordable rates and comforts for patients. In 2007 she returned to MDACC to help researchers on numerous cancer trials. Recently she retired and was looking forward to traveling and spending time with close friends.
Martha had a huge heart, a contagious laugh and a beautiful soul. Always the life of the party she loved to entertain. She had a passion and zest for life that took her on many spectacular adventures and destinations.
Martha leaves behind her wife and best friend Sheleigh Beggs, her dear brother Richard Villalobos, aunt and uncle Sandy and Herb Boswell, brother in law Matt Beggs and family, and niece Samantha Proudfoot.
A memorial service in Martha's honor will be held at 4pm on May 15 at the Junior League of Houston, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane.
If desired, a memorial donation may be made to Citizens for Animal Protection (CAP) or the American Lung Association.
