Thanks to all of our patients/friends for the outpouring of love that you have shared with us as staff since our loss of Dr. Hosmer last month. I worked beside Michael for over 16 years and talked with him about every issue under the sun. I knew him well. We all truly were family and included our patients as family, too. Michael was never shy about talking about any subject. I will miss the election discussions that I know we were headed into as the 2008 races were heating up. So many times he and I would have opposite views but would continue to share those freely between ourselves and over you (because, of course, you couldn't say a word with cotton rolls stuffed in your mouths and a mouth prop holding your mouth open). I think that's why we all considered ourselves to be family...because with family, you can talk freely about anything, whether you agree or not. And Michael always let you know his opinion. He cared about your family and shared about his. He wanted to hear about your travels and shared about his... And your golf game, and your kids sports, and your interests, and oh, yeah, your teeth! He met so many of you at the office on weekends. He called you at night. He tried to do most of your work in our office to save you that extra money that a specialist would have charged. He really did care! Dorle and the children were always at the forefront of his concern. He always addressed Dorle as "sweetheart" and always loved her. But life moves on and we have to as well. We all have fond memories of him and those will last forever.

It is hard to know where to begin. Such a shock when we heard the news of Dr. Mike passing. It was one of those things that sends you straight into denial and disbelief because the possibility of this happening was never considered, even though we know it is inevitable for all of us.
Our deepest sympathies go out to you, Dorle, Sean and Sabrina for your loss. We can not even imagine what you feel, having such a great husband, father, friend, and just a great person taken so quickly from our midst. Please try to take some comfort in the fact that Dr. Mike was one in a hundred million who touched everyone he met in a different positive way. Such a gift from God that touched so many, we can only say that we will each miss him in our own way. I am sure that he will be waiting for all of us when it is our time to leave this earth with a big smile in his comforting and reassuring way. May God grant peace to all of us who are stuggling to deal with his passing. Our prayers and thoughts are with all who knew and loved him.

Dear Dorle, Sean and Sabrina
The Lord has a reason for everything in our lives, yet unfortunately we don’t always know what it means or where it will lead us, but we should always remember that we are in good hands by the one above.
We will keep you in our prayers,

I was so saddened and shocked to hear the news of Mike's passing when Debbie called. He had not only been my dentist for the last 30 years, but truly a good friend and an outstanding dentist who had our trust and always made us feel at home. Although I had moved from Houston several times during that period of time to Michigan, Ohio, Dallas, Malaysia, and Singapore, I had always maintained Mike as my dentist and saw him on my return trips back home to Houston. Mike and MJ and his entire practice were just that embracing, trusting, and good and made you feel part of their family.

We will miss him greatly and love him dearly. We wish to pass along our sincerist sympathy to his family.

God Bless Mike and his family.

Sincerely,

MONICA ROBBINS

With great shock and sadness we heard of the tragic news. Going for treatments at Michael's office was not only a necessary medical visit but I had fun with Michael, talking about golf - and all the Staff, telling jokes and giving them Italian recipes.
Our best thoughts to all his family and staff. He will be missed for ever.

We will miss Mike. Professionally, for his concern. Personally, as a neighbor that would wave as he passed by. Spiritually, knowing he will not be with us on this earth but we will spend eternity with him in the near future.

Many years ago, I visited the office for my regular check-up. At the time, I was teaching at Theiss and we had a class pet, an iguana, which I would carry to and from school in a pillowcase each day. As I got to my after school appointment, I wondered what I should do with the pet. I did not want to leave him alone in the heat of the car, nor did I want to bring him in. I went inside and asked if there was someplace I could put Weekly (my students named him). Everyone in the office wanted to see him, and they even took his picture.

Six months later, I received a dental postcard with a picture of Weekly. On the reverse side was a reminder that it was time for Weekly's check-up.

My family has sinced moved to Katy. We still drive the 30 or more miles each way because Dr. Hosmer is simply the best, and we will miss him.

I couldn't even begin to write enough in memory of, and to the family of Michael Hosmer.
I am just so thankful and was so privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful "FAMILY"/Dental Practice, not to mention a part of "Mike's family" I just thank all of our patients/friends from my heart for all of the "Awesome" cards, notes, letters emails, phone calls, kind words, and gosh, just for being here and being so kind and compassionate.
But most of all, I just thank you Mike for giving me the opportunity that you did. It is still such a shock, and I will never forget the phone call. I truly miss your genuine warm smile when I walk through that office door!
It still feels like you are going to come around the corner as always to greet me just as if you had been on vacation but I know that's just no so. My heart is just broken.
Mike, my friend, a wonderful caring person with lots of patience and understanding for others, he was so very sincere. He always made time to listen to others and never hesitated to offer a bit of advice when needed. As for a "Boss", he was still a true friend, no one will fill his shoes. We will see him again one day.
He and his family, are my family as well, the loss we have all suffered is just tremendous.
I will continue to be here for you all. I Thank for your loyalty and faithfulness and most of all your friendship. Please do not hesitate to call me for anything. Your health and your friendship is what mattered to Mike the very most. Hold on to all of his memories, keep them Dear to your heart always.

Dorle, Sean & Sabrina,
May every moment become treasured thoughts of all the love in your hearts. Your wonderful Father and Husbands words will always guide you along the way in your life (always listen!) just as you will suddenly remember all of the forgotten advice he had given you all of these years. I promise, it will come back to you just at the precise time you need it.
We love you, please just know Michael and I are here for you all, whatever you may need.

With so Much Love,

Debbie Robbins
and Michael Robbins

Dr. Hosmer friends & family,
The last time I was in the office I had a look at all those files and got to thinking about all the bright smiles that they represent. That's quite a thing to leave behind.
Thanks Dr. Hosmer.

Dear Dorle,Sean and Sabrina- My heart is just broken. I can't find the words to tell you how sad I am for all of you. Our love and prayers will be with you. I know God will bring you thru.
Michael was our 1st born nepjew and that was veery special to me.
He was a very happy, funloving little red hairedboy that we all loved(temper and all) HA! He managed to keep in touch with scenic cards from overseas. I really looked forward to that. Then when you moved to Houston, he kept us posted about his Dental practice and needless to say we were very proud of your accomplishments. Next wonderful time in your life was the adoption of your Dear Sean and shortly after your darling Sabrina. Micheal called and filled us in on that and kept us well posted every Xmas with those beautiful newsy letters. He was such a joy to us, always so jovial. I will miss him tremendously but I shall always cherish that last call before Christmas and we talked for 2 hrs. Dorle,Sean and Sabrina, Aunt Marjorie loves you daarly and will keep you close to my heart with our dear happy, loving Michael. May God Love and Keep you always

Michael, it stills feels like only a blur since I first received the call that you had departed from the cares of this present world. MJ and I often kidded each other about which one of us would get to heaven first, her or me. And there you go and upstage us both! I had the opportunity to have served in your office for 21 years. The longevity of your staff, MJ, Becky, Debbie and me was a true testimony to the care and dedication that you displayed to your patients. We truly were a family practice. Not only did we love and care about each other, supporting one another through out the years as our immediate families grew but it also encompassed our patients and their families. I don't know if you knew or realized how many prayers were offered up in your practice. Between MJ and myself there were a lot. Prayers were prayed for you, Dorle, Sean, Sabrina, your staff and their families along with the patients and their families. Where ever there was a need a prayer was going up on someone's behalf. But there was no greater joy than when someone surrendered their lives to the Lord, including you. It was like I could hear the angels singing and rejoicing that another soul was saved. It was not an easy task leaving your employment and walking away from the security of so many friends and patients. The decision was made only thru much prayer. But I now fully understand why. The Lord orchestrated my removal to position Dorle back into the practice for such a time as this. The Lord's love, grace and mercy continues always to amaze me. When I waken in the wee hours of the morning, I lie there with my mind racing over the past 20 plus years. Simple things like sharing the joke of the day, completing a Suduko that you had started or us gals being invited over for a luncheon in your home. And the way you had with words, they were classic whether it was a note on a birthday card or a letter to an insurance company. You were such a special and unique man to have worked in an office with all us gals and then went home to two more. Praise the Lord for Sean and golf!! I always thought you should have received a metal. The tears fall so easily for your family who now has an empty place that will never be filled. For how do you replace a husband, a daddy, a friend? My prayers will continue for your beloved family. Dorle, I pray Psalm 91 that the Lord is your comfort, strength and refuge. Sean, the mantle is now passed to you and I pray Psalm 112 over you as the patriarch of your family. Sabrina, I pray Proverbs 31 that one day your children will rise up and call you blessed. Michael, at your remembrance service it was my unexpected honor to have had the opportunity to greet those who loved you, trusted in your judgment, decisions and expertise. You will truly be missed. I will not say goodbye, but only so long for now, for one day we will meet again and walk in the light of the glory of the One True Living God down that street of gold. Until then I say, Michael thank-you for the memories. Love, Linda

To the Hosmer family, we are deeply sorry and saddened by the loss of an amazing man and dentist. He was so kind, so sweet and so loved. Our family has been with Dr. Hosmer for many years, as he saw my little brother Stephen go to war and back, as well as my new husband and parents. He was so compassionate about his patients and always called to make sure we were ok. He will truly be missed. Our prayers are with you. We will miss you Dr. Hosmer.

I'll miss Mike's (it took me quite a while since I first became a patient in '83 to NOT address him as "Dr." - out of respect) warm smile & his eagerness to discuss the latest "legal headlines" w/ me, always asking what my "take" was. He also liked to discuss soccer & Corvettes, two things we had in common. It was obvious that he cared deeply for his family. I hope your many fond & fun memories together get you through this great & sudden loss.

To the family and great staff of Dr Hosmer. We have been going to his office for over 20 yrs as many others have. Dr Mike was so upbeat and happy-he always was glad to share his stories while drilling our teeth! We always wondered how he understood our answers to his questions while under his finger! His travels with his family seemed to be what he enjoyed! He will be missed so much. He is a guy who enjoyed life every day! May his family know all the love sent their way.

Dear Family, patients/friends of Michael. As Mike's family and his staff we recognize that you too have suffered loss, you too are grieving. I want to personally thank you for the many notes, cards, prayers, kind words, and just being there for us in this time of mourning. Join with us as we are also celebrating his reunion with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Michael was a great boss and friend and we was as kind to us as staff as he was to you. Even when we had dental work done, he would call us in the evening to check, making sure we were comfortable. We will continue to serve you as we transition into the next phase and will gladly talk to you to set your mind at ease to continue great care for you. God bless all of you, for your friendship and your faithfulness. When you smile and chew, remember Mike, as his desire for each of you was your utmost health and happiness.
Thank you. I love each of you. MJ
Please feel free to call the us at the office.

My heart is warmed reading all the wonderful notes from patients who have been with Mike for all these years. I can tell he continued to be the warm caring dentist he started out as thirty years ago. I was his first office/dental assistant. I am 46 now, but I was 16 years old then and it was just the two of us in the office and he gently taught me the ropes. I thought it was unusual that he would stay open until 9 pm to see patients and that that extra amount of care would stop once he was established...but I can see that wasn't the case.

Dorle, I haven't seen you in years, but he certainly did adore you. Believe me...I listened hour upon hour to stories about your life and travels together. I can only imagine the stories he told with joy over the years about his children also.

My prayers are with you and your children during this difficult time, and for your staff also. One of my favorite songs by Chris Rice says..."go in peace and laugh on Glory's side"....we can all rest assured that is what Mike is now doing.

I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Dr. Hosmer. My family and I started seeing he and MJ 30 years ago and my parents are still patients. I would be too if I still lived in Texas! I think I was his first official "brace face" and he didn't hesitate to give us his home number in case there were problems or questions. He and his staff always kept me in business by buying up anything I was selling to raise money at Kleb or Klein High. They called me "Sellin' Helen" :-) He and his staff were always very kind and good to me and my whole family. My heart goes out to his Family and all his Friends in this very difficult time.

After the many years working side by side, one gets to know and understand the heart of another while in such close proximity.
Mike was a good boss, and a good man. He cared for his patients, and the people who worked with him.
Michael was more like a big brother than my "boss". We shared many good times...the memories will reside in my heart, always.
I thank God for the wonderful ties and friendships woven through so many, throughout the years of working there.
Know my thoughts and prayer are with you Dorle, Sean and Sabrina...

Dr. Mike Hosmer,
THANKS FOR THE SMILE :) Our teeth are white, healthy and happy. You made a difference! Thanks for that late night call to see if we were OK after sitting in your chair, being stuck with needles, stretching my mouth to new limits, clamped - welded- drilled – filed and the poking. Sorry for the Chomp Chomp on the fingers by the way. I would have loved to answer your questions by you, but could not answer because your hands, fingers, suction and drills were in my mouth. Well I was a listener for a change, and enjoyed hearing your views on life. Going to your office is a treat. Thanks for being on time when I was not and still taking me. Thanks for the tender care of my family while in your hands since 1983. Thanks for sharing your life stories about Dorle, Sabrina & Sean, golf, tennis, politics and trips to Hawaii. You were a great Dad, great Husband, so proud of your family with a real passion for life. A super good friend to all. We love you and thank God for you .. You will be missed… See you someday soon……

Dear Dorle, Sean & Sabrina, MJ, staff, and clients -

I was a client but for a short time, but the office and staff, love and care he provided changed my life forever, for it was in MJ's chair, with Linda behind, that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I was further blessed by your visit to Maui and that you came to see me at Hard Rock Cafe. Dorle's heart and Sabrina and Sean blessed my heart with their cheer and talents. Sabrina has a special place in my heart, and I pray she reaches out to God through her writing. I cherish our time at Kumalani praising God for all that we have. I pray for peace through your pain, and as I look at the island skies please know you all are in my heart. God Bless you all.

To the family of Dr. Hosmer and staff:

I've had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Hosmer since I was 3 or 4 and now I am 26. I write this with such sadness and shock, but know that he is smiling down on us all. He would be so proud that I accepted my first job on Monday as an ER nurse at St. Francis in Tulsa, Ok. I graduate with my BSN on May 10, 2008. He was always so proud of me and told me I would be a wonderful nurse. He knew this was a long road for me and always cheered me on.
What a caring heart he had. He would always call later on that night after I had a procedure to make sure I was doing okay.
Dorle, Sean, Sabrina I ache with you, but feel very blessed to have had Dr. Hosmer in my life.
Thank you for everything you have done for my family and I. We miss you so very much.

Dorle and family
Please accept our deepest sympathies at this time of a great loss. We (Chitra, Ashwin and I) share a deep sense of loss of family--a great person, a compassionate human being and an excellent dentist. We have had the pleasure of knowing him and MJ for almost 30 years, ever since they started in the old Gerlands shopping center. From the start his care was fantastic--always made the time, always called in the evening to check whether everything was alright--how rare--a Michael trademark. He was a great dentist and always did things right even if it required staying back or coming especially for you. He cared for our family and was a cheerleader for us. He entertained us enormously while we were in the chair and could talk on any subject with great depth and knowledge—sports, travel , politics, entertainment. He was a fair and decent human being. We have lost a key member of our family.
Michael—Rest in peace.
God bless your family and his staff—MJ, Becky , Debbie and others..

Most gracious and merciful Father, we praise Your name with every breath we take. "I call to the Lord who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies."(II Sam 22:4) Father, we praise Your word which tells us that You have built a mansion in Heaven for each and everyone of us.(John 14:2) In Heaven, we will feel no more sickness and no more pain. In heaven we will be comforted by You as we lay at Your feet. What a wonderful place it must be.

Father, we pray that You have received Dr. Hosmer into Your heavenly realm. His service to Your Kingdom on earth has been brought to a close. He finished the race You had him run and we pray that he has now received the prize.(I Cor 9:24)

What a humbling joy it is Father to realize that, even now as we are praying today, You might be teaching Dr. Hosmer the dance that has always been pulsing in his veins. Until we meet him above the mountains...until he greets us at the gate...we know that he doesn’t have to be alone. Thank You merciful Father that You have made a way for Dr. Hosmer's eternity to be secure.

Father we ask that You bring comfort and peace to the Hosmer family and all the other loved ones from whom Dr. Hosmer is now separated. Our hearts cry out to You so that You might comfort them and heal their painful grief. Let their tears, that tempted Dr. Hosmer to linger here, wash away any doubt of Your goodness, grace, and the glory of Your Kingdom. Let the tears they shed cleanse each of them of all fear and guilt and uncertainty. Let these same tears now serve as a spring of new hope of Your Living Water. In the quiet of the night, Merciful Father, we pray that with the calming touch of Your hand, You will remind them of the beauty of Your Kingdom, the forgiveness You offer and that You infuse courage into them so that their faith might be strengthened.

Father, let us all remember the wonderful gift of Your Son Jesus Christ, the cleansing His blood provides us and the eternal salvation His loving grace offers us. It is in His compassionate name that we ask You to hear our praises and prayers. Amen.

Family of Michael Hosmer,
We moved to Texas in 1981 and that is when we became patients of Michael. In 1999 we moved to Georgetown, Tx but continued to return to Spring every 6 months to be seen by Michael and M. J. After 27 years it is so hard for us to say goodbye to a true friend. We were so saddened to hear of your loss. You can take comfort in knowing how much he was loved and respected. We will miss him.

My family and I were long-time patients of Dr. Hosmer. He was an incredible person and dentist, so warm and so caring. Like has been said before, he always would call in the evening to make sure everything was okay, and then he would always make time for any emergencies. Even though I had not seen him for many years, he will always live on as my family dentist. He will be very missed! My great condolences and much love to his family and friends.

Dear Dorle, I just wanted you and your family to know of my appreciation for your husband and father. l5 years ago, our family moved here from Utah. Cindy Livengood told me of a great dentist named Dr. Hosmer. I soon made an appointment. For the last l5 years or so, he has probably fixed every tooth, but the most genuine factor was his consoling phone calls after each of my and my families visits. He just wanted to call and make sure we were doing o.k. and if there was anything he could do, just call. That was so appreciated, and not heard of in this day and age. I've asked him for help with an aching tooth on Saturday--he came within minutes. Especially I remember just before the bad storm, and with electricity failing, he met me at the office, to fix a bothersome tooth.

Dorle-- my prayers are with you. You are also a very caring and lovely person. Always accomdatiang in every way to somehow fit me in to wave and say hi on your walks. Spring, Texas has been just more livable because of you both. Take care. I'm just around the corner. Christie Allred

My family and I have had the pleasure of being patient's of Dr. Hosmer for over 20 years. He was the very best dentist there was. He would telephone you in the evening after your procedure to check on you. He was such a caring, wonderful man with a great sense of humor. Not only was he my dentist, he was my friend. I feel like we have lost a member of our family. There will never be another like him. God Bless his staff and his dear sweet wife and children.

Thank you, God, for letting us know Dr. Michael Hosmer. He was a good man, a friend in need, and a wonderful, concerned and cautious dentist who eased our pain in many ways. May you rest in peace, Michael. You will be sorely missed.

Hosmer Family (meaning relatives and office staff both) - I am in disbelief. Dr. Hosmer has been our family's dentist for 25 years - I have an appointment to see him and MJ in February. I remember him making special arrangeements to get my family members in when any of us were in pain. This gives new meaning to the saying that "life is short." A great guy gone way too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I worked with Dorle years ago at The Hauser Clinic, back when she and Mike were still newlyweds. I smile when I recall the deep love, joy and affection that she and Mike shared, so it was with shock and great sadness that I read he’d departed this plane of existence—way too soon, it seems.

Dorle, Sean, and Sabrina, I ache with you. I, too, wish that Mike were still “there” for you to hold, to laugh with, for talks important and trivial, for adventuring—all the things that make life so sweet. Try to remember, though, that he is lost only to your sight. As St. Paul wrote, “Love never ends.”

May the Love that brought Mike into your lives keep him alive in your hearts, may you find comfort in the care of those who love you, and may the memories that you created with Mike always inspire you, provide you with delight, and infuse you with warm, fuzzy feelings.

Christ’s Peace,
Diane
