Michael Kelley Obituary

Michael Kelley
03/18/1950 - 04/11/2025
Michael Lee Kelley "Mike" born March 18, 1950 at St. Joseph Hospital, passed away peacefully April 11, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Rose; his father, Ray; his sister, Kay, and his brother John. He is survived by his wife, Terrie; his children, Ridley, Kaitlin, and Logan and his wife Kelli; his grandchildren, Coco, Mae, and Quinn; his brother, Paul and his wife Patti, sister-in-law, Denise; his nieces and nephews Jennifer, Foster, Jessica, and Amanda.
Born and raised in the East End, Mike spent his formative years as the "hitting terror" of the East End Little League on a team coached by his father. He met his sports loving wife of 50 years at Jackson Middle School and eventually caught her eye while playing football and baseball at Austin High School. Her enthusiasm for all Houston sports sealed the deal for him.
Married in Houston in 1974, they eventually settled in San Antonio where Mike was the President of Rainbo Bakery. Years later they returned to Houston where he took on the role as President of Cyclone Enterprises. He was fortunate to retire working with friends at Heil of Texas.
From t-ball to college ball, Mike's love for sports played out through being the ultimate fan and self-proclaimed coach of all the sports his kids played (and the Astros). He found the most enjoyment lending his expertise on Logan's select ball teams and spending time on the golf course. Proudly, he was one of the founders of the "Eastenders Golf Invitational," a group of lifelong friends who have gathered annually for 35 years.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends. As he would always sing when it was time to go "turn out the lights, the party's over."
