Dianne and Trey,
I was saddened to hear of Ray's passing.
I shall carry with me always, the memory of the ride my wife and I took on his sailboat.
Though he knew he would be seasick (and was!), he stayed out on the water, laughing and telling us how much fun he was having.
That to me says a lot about Ray. I will miss him..

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Ray's sudden passing.
He was always a bigger than life person, full of laughter and good humor. I remember he always wanted to shoe my horses on a Monday. Even if we made the appointment for another day, he'd usually end up calling me and changing it to a Monday. I finally found out he liked to come to my house on Mondays so he could go to Parks Cafe in Alvin afterwards. He liked their Monday night menu! ;)
He was very sheepish when he finally admitted that to me, but we both got a great laugh out of it - and once his 'secret' was out, he always came to my house on Mondays.
He will be missed by many friends and family.

Ray Jr.,his mother Dorothy and his father Big Ray as we called him lived two houses down from them. We lived at 3412 Chaffin st. He was 8 years older than me and I allways thought he was a big gentle giant. He was our friend. His parents was very close to my parents. I was allways in awe of his rodeoing and still be a Quiet kind man. I still have a barbecue pit that he hand made for my father Jim(Stoney) Burke. I havent seen Ray Jr. for a long time, however, I am allways thinking of him. He was very special to me and all of my family.

Dear Family, We were so sorry to hear about Ray's passing. Although we haven't seen him in a good number of years, we were friends back when we were rodeoing together and as a matter of fact he used to ride my husband Bubba's doggin' mare. We have good memories of those times and of his gentle nature and kind smile. We send our prayers to you and your family. May GOD Bless and keep his arms around you. Sincerely,

To the family of Ray Brock Jr.
I remember Ray from my childhood - he was the next door neighbor of my cousins. I was in awe of Ray - he was a strikingly warm, polite and funny young man. I always enjoyed the times when my cousins and I could go to the Brock's home for a visit. Ray grew up having the most wonderful parents with a lot of love surrounding him. I am happy I got to share in that atmosphere - they are good memories.

Ray Jr. was a cute little boy and he grew up on Chaffin St. with our children. He was the oldest, and such a good influence-very kind, and wore his cowboy outfit much of the time. His Mother helped all of us as we needed-we did not have a telephone for months in 1947. Wish we had kept in touch. Our sympathy. Jane Huge Vernon, Rick, and Susan Vernon Heaslet

Ray Jr. or "Pooney" as we called him when he was little lived a couple of houses down from my sister Kathleen and family. We used to play together all of the time. I remeber the birthday parties that his dad & mom used to have for him at the Golfcrest Country Club located behind their house. What a treat that was. I also worked for Ray Jr.'s dad at Superior Iron Works and Supply Co. a short while. Ray Jr. was a great guy and had a wonderful Mother and Father. He will be greatly missed by all. Our warmest sympathy goes to you Dianne and Trey, devoted wife and son. A lot of people loved and appreciated Ray Jr. Our prayers are with you Diane and Trey.

To the family of Ray L. Brock, Jr.,
Ray Jr. was my childhood nextdoor neighbor. He taught me to ride a bike. He protected me from the neighborhood bullies. He was the son of my beloved godparents; therefore like a second brother to me growing up. With greatest sympathy.

Unfortunately, I did not know Ray
very well, but when I did see him
at the Homeless Pet Placement League functions, he reminded me of a gentle giant. He supported not only Dianne but her passion for the
four legged ones. On behalf of everyone at HPPL, our deepest sympathies go out to Dianne and the entire family.

To the family of Mr. Ray L. Brock, Jr.
I read the notice of your father's death in the Houston Chronicle (on line) and my heart was touched by the love that poured forth from the notice. I do not know your family personally, but through the notice any one would know that he has left a beautiful legacy - his loving family!
