Walter Shelby Obituary
Walter Earl Shelby Sr, 70, passed April 3, 2011. A 1958 Phyllis Wheatley graduate. 35 year METRO Transit retiree. His memories will be cherished by wife, Patricia Shelby; brother, Alvin Shelby (Linda); sisters Lillian Bell, Audrey Davis (Edwin), and Mary Smith; sister-in-law Adrian Frieson (Andrew); mother-in-law, Mary Etter Green; his six children and fifteen grandchildren. Special thanks to Hermann Hospital MICU. Funeral Services, Sat. April 9, 2011 at 1:00pm at Johnson Funeral Home, 5730 Calhoun.

Walter was a good man that I loved very dearly. I met him back in 1997 while riding the bus and we became very very very close. I was a student attending hcc and uhd. I didn't know that he passed. He became a very good personal friend of mine that I loved very much. May God bless his family. He's in a better place.

To the Shelby Family. I did not know Mr. Shelby personally, but I do know his son Walter,and his grandson "Lil Walter", through my "play daughter", Twaneaka. I am very sorry for your lost, and I do understand your pain. Be comforted by your memories and realize that he is in a place where there is no more pain and suffering. Hold tight to God's hand.
