David Lang Obituary

David J. Lang

Manitowoc - After a long courageous seven year battle with brain cancer, the Lord has taken another angel. A father and husband of 51 years, David J. Lang, passed away on February 20, 2021.

David was the first child born to Donald J. and Marion M. Lang on December 31, 1947. He attended Holy Innocents Catholic School, Wilson Jr. High and Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1966. On February 7, 1970 David and Lynda (Manlick) Lang were married. Only two years later, they were blessed with a son Christopher John Lang. Father and son became best friends and hunting companions. November was an important month for the two. They planned their deer hunting trip at the trailer in Florence County. David tried to live his life getting close to nature and liked cutting and splitting his own wood on our hobby farm to burn in the house during winter. David kept to himself and enjoyed hobbies of restoring a 1967 Chevelle SS 396, fishing, camping, boating up north, and nothing other than walking down to LaSalle Falls near the trailer.

For jobs, David worked for Eastman Soo Line Railroad as well as Di-Coat Inc of Sheboygan. Living in Wisconsin all his life, he tried his hand at buying a new semi and drove cross country for Pritzil's in Green Bay. After five years, he settled into a job for his brother in Milwaukee, Anchor Rack and Plating, until his retirement.

David is survived by his wife: Lynda K. (Manlick) Lang; one son and daughter-in-law: Christopher and Colleen Lang; siblings: Rick (Janice) Lang, Marlene (Lang) Bryan, Lori (Gary) Nehning, John (Barb) Lang, Patti (Jeff) Schnell, and Karen A. Resch, Cindy F. Wenzel, and Douglas F. Manlick. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. David was preceded in death by his parents: Don and Marion Lang; maternal grandparents: Dan and Marion Zahorik; paternal grandparents: Sylvester and Helen Lang; brother-in-law: Greg Resch; father-in-law: Frederick E. and Elenore (Kulpa) Manlick; and just recently Gary L. Novak, Jr.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a prayer service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.
