Joshua T. Barbeau 34, Porterfield, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, with his family by his side at Aurora BayCare in Green Bay. He was born on March 2, 1979, to Marjorie "Maggie" Schmidt in Manitowoc. He graduated from New Holstien High School 1997 and had worked at the Kohler Company in Kohler, WI, until continued his education at NWTC Marinette with his Welding/Fabrication Degree. He then worked at Silven Industries, and was currently working at Marinette Marine where he loved ship building. He enjoyed hunting, making wine, fishing, ATVing, and was a NASCAR and Packer fan. Joshua loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his nieces and nephew and Paden, who he loved as a son.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Maggie (Robert "Z") Schmidt-Zajdel of Porterfield; girlfriend, Shane Davis of Porterfield, her son Paden Davis; brother, Jaredd Barbeau of New Holstein; sister, Leah (Joseph Jr.) Brenner of Mt. Calvary, WI; maternal grandma, Monica Pivonka of Clarks Mills, WI; nieces, Alexzandra Schleh and Sophia Brenner; nephew/godson, Joseph Brenner III; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; his dogs, Koa and Bella; and cat, Frisky. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Gordon Schmidt and Harold "Bud" Pivonka; uncles, Gordon Schmidt Jr., Jim Mankins and Glenn Isaacson and cousin Paul Johnson.

Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, on Saturday, February 15th from 3-6 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 6 p.m. with Deacon Vince Beckley officiating.

The family would like to extend special thanks the ER staff at BAMC and Aurora BayCare ICU in Green Bay for their compassionate care during Joshua's illness.
