Ronald Jerome Obituary

Boise, ID - Ronald Wayne Jerome was born January 12, 1947, in Nampa, Idaho. He passed away April 2, 2024, in Meridian, Idaho after battling cancer.

Ron was born with spina bifida in a time when babies with this condition were not expected to live more than a few days. Ron was resilient, however, and endured many surgeries and health challenges over the years, supported by his loving and devoted parents. He attended school in the Kuna School District where he valued the friendship of his classmates.

Fishing, hunting, camping and enjoying the outdoors were passions of Ron's. He loved deep-sea fishing off the Oregon coast, fishing in Alaska and fishing in any local pond, river or stream where he had the opportunity. Ron enjoyed hunting and had an especially memorable deer hunt which has been a popular topic of conversation ever since. He also loved anything related to horses and Western culture. The local rodeos and professional bull riding events were activities that he looked forward to every year and enjoyed immensely.

God had an incredible purpose for Ron and his life. Although he had many health struggles, his faith and trust in God were inspiring. He served as a greeter at his church, was involved with men's groups at church and played the guitar in a family band which performed at various church events. He was always gracious and kind to everyone and never spoke a bad word about anyone. He was extremely supportive of his nieces and nephews and attended all of their recitals, games, birthday parties and other events. He loved his family and he loved life. He served as an amazing role model for others through his pure heart, his kindness and by demonstrating that the best things in life are not related to money and recognition but can be found in God's provisions such as nature, family and a good spicy burrito.

Ron is survived by his mother, Bonnie Jerome, brother Kenny Jerome (Darlene), sister Marilyn Hildebrandt (Harold), brother David Jerome (Julie) and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Estel Jerome, and brother, Dale Jerome.

A viewing will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home on Thursday, 4/11, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be on Friday, 4/12, 11:00 AM, at Kuna Cemetery and the memorial service will be Friday, 4/12, 12:30 PM, at the Meridian Friends Church, 1021 W Pine Ave, Meridian, ID 83642. My Uncle Ron has always been far more than an uncle to me. He was the best role model, most supporting person attending every basketball game, football game, dance performance or birthday party for his nieces and nephews. He loved so deeply and was a terrific example enduring so many surgeries and medical procedures but never once complaining. He never lived with a chip on his shoulder. He was always up for anything and was never held back. I love him and I miss him. He will never be replaced and we will keep his memory alive forever.

Ronnie was the guy everyone loved. Always so upbeat even with the trials he endured. He was a fisherman, a hunter, a cowboy and everyone's best friend. Most of all he lived the life of a Christian. Our family would like to express our loving condolences and prayers to the Jerome Family. Ronnie will truly be missed, but will be looking forward to seeing him again. Love, Scott and Sandra Savaria
