Kenneth Russell Davis
POCATELLO - Kenneth Russell Davis, 41, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Ken was born September 15, 1968, in Onawa, Iowa, to Ronald and Janet (Nelson) Davis. Ken was raised and educated in Iowa. Ken was an outstanding wrestler in high school and participated in several state championships.
He married Angie McGarry in Sioux City, Iowa, on June 14, 1996. They moved to Pocatello and Ken found work at J R. Simplot, Chubbuck Fire Department, he was a business entrepreneur, he currently owned and operator the Silver
Horseshoe Bar in American Falls, Idaho. He also worked for Camas Enterprises in Idaho and for Terra Nitrogen in Iowa.
He was a board member of the Chubbuck/Pocatello Hockey Association, was involved with his sons in cub scouts which included the Pinewood Derby and camp-outs as well as hockey. Ken loved to rebuild cars, go camping, ride motorcycles, boating, hockey and being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Davis, and sons, Brandon and Shawn Davis, all of Pocatello; a sister, Becky (Steve) Purcell, Urbandale, Iowa; his father, Ronald Davis and stepmother, Linda Davis, Soda Springs, Idaho; his mother, Janet Nelson and stepfather, Dennis Nelson, Onawa, Iowa; stepbrother, Denny Nelson, Onawa, Iowa, and stepsister, Kami Nelson, Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Davis and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services for Ken will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 South Fourth Avenue, Pocatello, Idaho. The family will receive friends during the viewing, one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Ken will be buried in the Center Township Cemetery in Castana, Iowa, under the direction of the Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa.
The family suggests any donations be sent to the Chubbuck Fire Department at 4727 Yellowstone Avenue, Chubbuck, Idaho 83202, or to the (CPHA) Chubbuck/Pocatello Hockey Association at P.O.
