Cathy Tea Obituary

Cathy Tea, 67, of Idaho Falls, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Cathy was born Feb. 11, 1948, in Driggs to Russell and Bertha Murdock. She grew up in the Driggs area, graduating from Teton High School in 1966. She attended Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) in Rexburg.

On July 13, 1973, she married her true love, Larry Tea, in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. They had four children, two girls and two boys.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Young Women's president, Relief Society president and camp director.

Cathy enjoyed horses, painting and sports. She loved to spend time with her family whenever she could.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Tea of Idaho Falls; children, Charles (Spring) Tea of Layton, Utah, Nicholas Tea of Idaho Falls, Jennifer Hansen of Pleasant Grove, Utah, and Rachael (Mark) Bradshaw of Roy, Utah; her sister, Veloe (John) Brasier of Ucon; her brother, Gary (Mikki) Murdock of Pocatello; her sister-in-law, Donna Gay Murdock of Driggs; and eight grandchildren, Morganne Tea, Bentley Hansen, Madison Tea, Meadow Hansen, Urban Bradshaw, Lucas Tea, LilaRose Hansen and Walker Prichard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Curtis Murdock and Bertha Barker Murdock; her brothers, Randy Murdock and Tommy Murdock; and her grandson, Austin Bradshaw.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at Cloverdale LDS Ward, 1040 Crimson St. Bishop Mike Sorenson will be officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to Friday's services at the church. Burial will be at Iona Cemetery.

Larry and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Cathy was a wonderful lady and I have many good memories of her from my childhood. She truly was like a 2nd mother for my siblings and I. My families thoughts and prayers are with you.
