Albert Jacobs Obituary

Albert Stickley Jacobs Albert Stickley Jacobs, 79, of Donnelly, Idaho passed away on Oct. 21, 2007 following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease that was complicated with an unsuspected heart condition. Al was born to Lodowick & Dorothy Jacobs on Oct. 17, 1928 in Grand Rapids Mich. He grew up in Watersmeet, Mich .and graduated from Baraga High School in 1947. Al served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948-1950. Following his time in the Air Force, Al worked for Boise Cascade Lumber Service for several years. Albertsons Corporate Headquarters then employed him until his retirement in 1991. Al married Kathleen Thompson in 1948. They made their home in Boise where they raised six children until Kathleen's death in 1978. During this time Al & Kathy were active in the Southern Idaho Sailing Association for many years. Al was a member of the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol for over 20 years. Al met and married Linda Martin in 1981. They built their dream retirement home in Donnelly, where they owned & operated Compass Point Realty until Linda's passing in 2002. Al enjoyed the Idaho outdoors and spending time with his family. Al is survived by his six children Bruce of Boise, Ken of Calif., Don (Connie), Randy (April), all of Boise, Nikki of Mont. and Cynthia (Rick) of Wash. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kandis (Scott) Hoyt of Boise and Jeremy Osborn of Wash. as well as his great grand children, Matthew, MaQuela & Jessica Hoyt and Kira Osborn. At Al's request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Parkinson Disease Association in his memory.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. I know our family has not kept in touch over the years as we should have but ya'll have our deepest sympathies. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Rub called today to tell us about Uncle Al. Sure was surprised to hear that. It has been quite some time since we have seen one another but I think about ya'll often. God Bless ya'll.
