Calvin Bishop Obituary

Calvin LeRoy Bishop
1955 ~ 2015
Calvin L. (Cal) Bishop, 59, went to join some of the people he loved most on March 30, 2015 due to complications from chemotherapy. Cal was born September 28, 1955 to Wayne and Marie Bishop in Caldwell, Idaho the youngest of four siblings. He married Joanna Walthall in 1974. They first met in 1957 when Marie took Jo's mother to the hospital when she was in labor with Jo. The families moved apart for a time until Cal and Jo reunited 16 years later.
Justin "Beau" was born in 1977 followed by Samual Cody in 1978. Cal was so extremely proud of his boys. He had grandchildren and bonus grandchildren just as he always had bonus children. Many called him Papa and Dad. That's just the kind of man he was.
Cal was a joker. He loved nothing more than telling a joke, pulling a prank and making people laugh. He always had a hug for you even if you were the waitress.
Cal was self-employed much of his life as an electrician and later he worked for Trinity Springs in Pine, Idaho and was employed by Quality Electric at the time of his death where he loved his coworkers. His favorite past time was building furniture, a trade he learned from his dad.
Cal is survived by his wife, Jo; sons, Beau and Sam; daughter-in-laws, Victoria and Candace; father, Wayne; "favorite" sister, Pat; brothers, John and Ric; grandchildren, Abby, Kaden, Josie, Lacy, Max, Lexi and Christian; "favorite" mother-in-law, Euretta Walthall; sister-in-law, Cathie Powell (Rick); brother-in-law, Roy Walthall (Luchy); bonus brother and sister, Scott and Denise Cairl; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; all of his grandparents, step-mother, Ellie; father-in-law, Kenny Walthall; brother-in-law, Randy Warren; and special family friend, Bob Watts.
We would like to give special thanks to the awesome staff at MSTI; they are angels. Services will be held Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at Ten Mile Christian Church located at 3500 W. Franklin Road, Meridian.

Jo & family, so very sad to hear of the passing of Calvin. Although we haven't seen him or you for several years, the kind memories of him stick in our hearts. My sister passed away of cancer and chemo in July 2014. I know the pain you are going thru. No more pain for them. Stay strong, it gets easier to bare as time goes on.

Calvin may you rest in peace. I haven't seen you in years but you were always a great man and there to put a smile on people's faces. I'll prey for peace and healing for your family.
