With our hearts full of sorrow, we announce the death of our beloved Coen Michael Hendrix. Coen was an adventurous, spunky child who taught us all a bit about how to live life to the fullest and find joy in the simplest things. Coen could put a smile on the saddest of faces and brightened the world of anyone who was blessed to cross paths with him.
Coen was born into loving arms with the help of Treasure Valley Midwives in Boise, Idaho on August 6, 2009. He passed away during a tragic drowning accident in the middle fork of the Boise River on June 28, 2015. He lived a beautiful and youthful life and while taken too soon, he will live on in the hearts of the many beautiful people who love him.
Coen had a very large, loving family and is survived by his amazing mother, Megan Siegrist, and his loving fathers, Jonathan Roberts, and Benjamin Hendrix. Coen will be missed deeply by his older brother, Elijah Hendrix and his brand new baby sister, Evelyn Roberts. He has many other surviving family members who mourn his loss: his grandparents, Tina Perkins, Shawn and Katherine Siegrist, Jennifer and Charles Flowers, Cindy and Mike Hendrix; his aunts and uncles, Brittany Blume, Natalie Siegrist, Lindsey Morris, Sandie Flowers, Troy Flowers, Elizabeth Ekar, Jessica Roberts, Angelica Roberts, Brian Hendrix, Jeff Fackler, and Bethany Fackler; and his cousins, Brady Morris, Haylei Kokolis, Haven Morris, Violet Morris, Abbey Abernathy, Kurt Blume, Maelyn Blume, Wren Blume, Wesley Soto and Dahlia Ekar, Claire and Sam Fackler.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home, Ustick Chapel, 3629 E Ustick Rd Meridian, ID 83646. A reception will follow, please bring a favorite dish to share.
To celebrate Coen's enthusiasm for the silly things in life, we ask that instead of wearing black please wear blue because it was his favorite color and that you wear something fun and silly to his memorial. He was often found wearing a cape, some goggles or a funny hat.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to a child's charity of your choosing so that in some way this devastating tragedy may help another child. There is also a gofundme account that has been established to cover the costs of services and travel arrangements for family. Any remaining funds will be donated to a children's charity. Our family would like to give our sincerest of thanks to those who were on scene and tried to help, as well as to the amazing staff at St Luke's Hospital, and to the tremendous amount of love and support that we have received from friends and strangers alike during this very difficult time.
May his soul forever live in peace in the boundless expanses of the beautiful universe, until we meet him again.
