Donald Otis Ely, a good friend to all who knew him passed away of natural causes at his home on September 10, 2017, at the age of 63. He was born in Inglewood, Calif. on July 24, 1954 to Otis and Dorothy Ely. He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by four cousins and a host of friends who were his family.
Don graduated from Apple Valley High School in California in 1972 and moved to Boise, Idaho in 1975. At the time of his death Don was a distributor of Shaklee products for over 42 years and achieved the rank of Director, bringing health and life to all the friends he developed through that association. He also was an apartment manager in East Boise and he worked part time for Allegiant Air. Earlier in the mid 1980's he owned and operated World Class Gym and organized several major body building completions.
Don was always there to offer a helping hand and had a special tenderness for the elderly. He loved to travel and enjoyed the great outdoors and his adventures around the West. Idaho was his home and he treasured it so much. The beaches, mountains and rivers were his playground. Don was a true American Patriot. His conservative attitudes and love for a strong America will never be forgotten. Don's spirit will live forever with all who had the pleasure and honor to call him family and friend.
As Don was a member of Life Church, A Memorial Service will be held at Life Church, 3225 E Commercial Ct., Meridian, ID, on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM. All are invited to a light lunch being served immediately following the service.
