Gary Bowles Obituary

Gary James Bowles
1947 - 2016
Gary was born to Thelma and Lawson Bowles in Whitesboro, Oklahoma.
He served in the Navy for four years as an Airdale working on Navy planes. Most of you knew Gary as the friendly Elevator Repair Man. He worked for Otis, Hobson and Schindler Elevator for 36 years. One of his favorite jokes said with a chuckle was, "Oh look; there goes another old elevator repairman."
His favorite pastimes included fishing in Mexico, Manly Camp and yearly Chili Cook-off. And spending time with his many friends. Gary was always quick to help out a friend in need.
Gary and Kathy Louise (Dunn) were married in 1980 and just celebrated 36 years of marriage. Gary's two step-sons are Gabriel and Tyler Lemmon.
We remember Gary's laugh and enthusiasm for life - the great camping trips – some memorable parties along the way and the great friend we all loved.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy; his loving sister, Loretta "Gail" Kuster; his step-son, Gabriel Lemmon, wife Tanya and their children, Magnolia and Maxam; his step-son, Tyler Lemmon, his son Stephan Lemmon and his wife Sami.
His service is being held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Bowman Funeral Parlor, located at 10254 W. Carlton Bay Dr., Garden City, Idaho 83714.
Viewing from 11:00am to 12:30pm
Funeral Service from 12:30pm to 1:30pm
Followed by interment at Idaho State Veterans Cemetery (Dry Creek).

I am so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. He was a great guy and I am happy to have known him. He was never in a bad mood or had a negative thing to say about anyone in my time around him. I would be proud if I was half the man he was. Although we never worked at the same company at the same time, I consider him one of my elevator Brothers. God bless Gary and his Family.

Words can not say how sad for us to say goodbye to Gary. Have known him for over 40 year he was one of the best men I have ever known. When he married Kathy life just got better for the both of them. We had so many wonderful years of fun and great memories.
My Love and prayers go out to Kathy and the family.

Kathy & Family....

The years have flown by and now today I want to say, "I'm thinking of you and your family with a heavy heart." You and Gary were a wonderful couple that my family got to know and love....I'll never forget the Christmas Eve you spent with us and how we all enjoyed you both! The memories you have will help you heal going forward and knowing you have a guardian angel to watch over you has to be comforting. We all LOVED Gary and please know I'm here for you always!

Love, Steve, Cassie & Family

I saw Uncle Gary only hours before he passed. I asked him if he needed anything. All he said was that I need to check on my Aunt Kathy and make sure she's staying strong. Until his last, he loved and cared for her.
We will miss you!
