Joan Walsh Obituary

Joan C. Walsh
1943 - 2014
Joan Carol (Carman) Walsh was born in Tacoma, Washington on November 5, 1943. She attended Puyallup, Washington schools, and then attended Washington State University, in Seattle, Washington, followed by Weaver Airline Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. She was employed by Pacific Airlines, in Monterey, California, where she traveled the country. She met Roger Walsh in 1961 and they were married in 1966. They started in Puyallup and shortly after moved to Nampa, then Homedale, and finally Boise, where they raised two children, Stacey and Michelle. Joani cared for her home and children according to God's biblical teachings. She was an integral part in the typing and publishing of the Suriname, South America, Trio Indian tribes first Bible. She was later employed by the Woman's Clinic in Boise until her retirement in 2009.
Joani enjoyed God's wonderful landscapes, from the desert to the mountains to the ocean beaches. She traveled wide and far, camped in the mountains of Idaho, gardened for fun, and was an avid quilter. In 1970, through the Women's Bible Study Fellowship, Joani gave her life to Jesus Christ, and became a "fisher-of mankind" sharing His grace and love with a soft touch to everyone she met. She was devoted to her two children, her four grandchildren, and one great grandchild, and will be missed by many.
Joani was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy L. (Coleman) Carman, and her father Richard N. Carman. She is survived by her brother Richard of Washington; her husband Roger of Boise; their son Stacey and his wife Sylvia, their three children: Sarah, Melissa, and Nathan of Nampa; their daughter Michelle, her son Noah and his wife Amethyst, and their daughter Kara of Boise.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Interment will be conducted by Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
A memorial service and celebration will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Cole Community Church, which is at 8775 Ustick Road, Boise, Idaho. All those who were touched by Joani Walsh and her walk with her heavenly Father, God Almighty, are encouraged to attend.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Boise Rescue Mission.

Dear Roger, Michelle and Stacey,
Too many years have passed by without seeing your faces but we will all join Joani in Heaven someday. Hallelujah! I remember Joani as an encourager in my life - her big smile (with dimples) always brightened my day. I had a small mobile home where the church office was housed temporarily and Joani worked as part time secretary. God bless you all! Pat (Farrell) Compton (and Bob)

Dear Roger, Stacey and Michelle, I just heard of Joani's passing today. I am so very sorry. The names, Roger and Joani Walsh were
"Staples" in our home for as long as I can remember! I will always remember Joani's beautiful smile and quiet/calming demeanor. May our God comfort you all and trust in Him that she is dancing in heaven and reuniting with all those who have gone before her. Much love, Connie Tucker Smith, Burbank, Washington

My heart goes out to Roger and their family at the loss of Joani. She was a great woman, such an encourager to continually trust Jesus and she had an amazing memory of scripture which she shared with anyone she could. Spending time with Joani meant seeing her shine with love for Jesus and her family. She was a blessing in my life and i have thanked God many times for having had her in my life. She always offered a hug and now we know who is hugging her!
