It is with great sadness that the family of John Robert Fahrner announces his unexpected passing on October 11, 2017, in his home of natural causes. John was born November 19, 1957, at the Mountain Home Air Force Base to Charlie and Betty Fahrner. The family moved to town when John was five years old. He graduated from Mountain Home High School in May 1976, excelling in basketball, track, and football. John was introduced to carpentry by his father at a young age, it was at this time that his lifelong passion for construction began. He was skilled at all aspects of construction, but framing homes was his specialty. In 1986 he married Kathy Merritt, together they had a daughter Kristen Marie. John began his own company in 1994, "Elkhorn Construction" he was very proud of this accomplishment. He helped many family and friends with remodeling, additions, decks, fences, and even built a home for his sister. John's greatest love, besides his daughter, was being in the mountains, whether it was hiking, fishing, camping or bow hunting. John is survived by his brother Charlie Fahrner, his sister Carol Sanders, his daughter Kristen Fahrner, numerous nephews and nieces, and his "granddog" Rogue. John will be forever missed and loved by all that had the opportunity to have him in their life. He was a kind, honest, hardworking and giving person. "A Big Teddy Bear".
