My condolences to Mike's family. He was a gentle soul with a quirky sense of humor. We met while working at the Idaho Commission for the Blind and became friends. Turns out I had met him at the U of I -- he was dating Sue and she lived in my dorm! I never heard him play but knew he had worked as a drummer in various bands. He introduced me to jazz music and engaged in mind-stretching conversations. We had fun together but unfortunately let our friendship sit on the shelf after he moved to Oregon and I got married. I have many fond memories of Mike. He was a sighted guy with greater understanding of blindness than most blind guys I met. He had confidence in the ability of blind people to function "normally" and expected his clients to do just that. Mike was my cane travel instructor as I trained for my job. He was the best travel instructor, evidenced by the way his students could maneuver in Boise, their home towns and even large cities where we attended conventions. God bless you, Mike, and may the angels carry you to paradise!

I SEND MY PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS TO MIKE'S FAMILY. IT WAS A SAD DAY TO FIND THAT HE HAD PASSED TOO EARLY IN LIFE.
WE WERE GOOD FRIENDS SOME 40 YEARS BACK. ALTHOUGH OUR PATHS RARELY CROSSED THROUGH THE YEARS, I CONSIDERED HIM A GREAT PERSON, AND HAVE MANY FUN AND HAPPY MEMORIES OF HIM.

My prayers and thoughts are with Michael and his family. I'm deeply saddened to learn of his passing. We became friends forty years ago when he taught cane travel to students at the Commission for the Blind in Boise and I was an errand girl for Boise Cascade, remaining friends all these years. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit in addition to his many other attributes. I will miss him as I know will many others.

I'm so saddened to hear of Michael's passing. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones. I have many fond memories of Mike playing with the Fabulous Chancellors. He was a fine musician and a good friend who will be missed.
