Otto Adams Obituary

Otto Richard Adams Otto Richard Adams, 79, of Boise, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 2, 2009. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at Cloverdale Funeral Home with a committal service to follow at 1 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Otto was born on April 4, 1929 in Delaware, Okla. to Ott and LaVina Adams. Otto graduated high school in 1947 from Donna High School in Donna Texas. Otto served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953 during the Korean War earning the Korean War Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was also given a battlefield promotion to Tech Sergeant. A heavy equipment mechanic by trade, Otto was a long time resident of Texas and California before retiring to Boise, Idaho. His hobbies included rodeo-bull riding and exploratory geology. Otto is survived by one sister, Nedra Willis; three children, Lisa Swafford, Katherine Smith and Michael Adams; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Otto was filled with hope, wonderful dreams and a contagious humor. The family wishes to commend Harrison's Hope Hospice for their extraordinary service in allowing our dear father to pass on with dignity and comfort.
