He was a dedicated, certified arborist for Boise's Parks and Recreation for over 25 years, and the producer host of his own Saturday "PRIVATE IDAHO" KBSU radio program since 1977. A memorial service for Victor will be held at Edward's Greenhouse, 4106 Sand Creek St, Boise, Monday, July 2 at 7 p.m. Services are under the care of Bowman Funeral Parlor. Victor asked that this be a simple, casual event. Please feel free to bring blankets for relaxing among the gardens while we celebrate Victor's life. The Boise State University Foundation has set up a scholarship fund in Victor's name with proceeds going towards an annual scholarship for students enrolled in the radio production courses through the School of Communication here at Boise State University. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to support this wonderful fund. If you would like to give a donation to this fund, you can contact the Boise State University Foundation, at 208-426-3276 or you can send in a donation to the foundation at 2225 W. Sorry to hear about the passing of Victor ... I can recall giving him baths in Mt. Home ID. How time flies and it was nice that all of you got together before Victor passed. Sorry we were unable to talk to him as he was asleep each time. Our deepest sympathy to all of you and our love and prayers.

I remember meeting you, Victor, quite by chance downtown one evening when KBSU was fresh on the air. I had no idea that it would last your lifetime from your 1st show. I cherish the last time I was with you in the control room so many years ago.

So many Saturdays, so many wonderful gifts of music and thoughtful commentary from Victor. Private Idaho was more than just a broadcast...tuning in on a Saturday was like chatting with an old friend every week for the last 25 years or so. I will miss Victor..he was an extraordinary pleasure.
Sincerely,
Chris

I have listened to Victor's radio show for many years from Challis and was saddened to hear of his illness, then death. His great taste in music and sense of humor will be missed by a small but loyal audience here in Challis.
My condolences go to his family and co-workers at KBSU.

Last Saturday when I heard Victor's friend talk of his passing, my breathe stopped and tears flowed. The Treasure Valley will never be the same without Victor, he made Saturday's soooo special, because I entered the following week feeling like I had "had" a week-end. I always found myself annoyed if I had to miss his program. To you, his family, please know his life mattered and he made ours so much richer through his creative talent and personality. His selections opened our hearts and minds to new artists, new music styles;all the time opening our own souls to healing or to our own happy memories. He truly had a spiritual gift and freely shared it with us through that peaceful voice over the airwaves -- he will be soooooooo very missed. Thank you Victor for making our lives easier and richer - enjoy your walk closer to the Light!
