We were so glad that despite Claude's health challenges, he was able to join our IHS Class of '65 at the 50th reunion August 15, 2015. In addition to our school bonds, it is his smile from that day,our conversations with him, and departing hug that I will always remember during that special day. The photos of him I am posting from that day reflect what he later wrote to me "Really enjoyed the day". Rest In Peace, Claude.

From Bobby: I have many fond memories of the 12 years we spent together in school. We were able to spend time with each other when we both lived in Richmond, and had some good adventures. For several years we shared comical birthday phone calls and cards. The last few calls were more of a serious nature. Claude will be missed. He was my friend. From Anna: The Simpson's were one of the first families to invite us to dinner and make us feel loved and welcomed when we moved here in 1964. Our Daddy was sent here to pastor the First United Methodist Church. Claude sat behind me in the choir and always got me tickled at just the wrong time. I cherish the many memories. And because of Bobby, I got to talk to him on his birthday. We Love you Claude Simpson.

Claude and I attended Independence High School in the 1960's. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Simpson very well. Your mother would write letters to my mother, Letha Osborne, when she was living away from Independence during the winer months. I appreciated Claude's friendship through the years. My 1st cousin, TJ Hughes, Roanoke, VA informed me about Claude's passing. My prayers are with each family member during this sad time. Extending my deepest sympathy,

We had the pleasure of meeting Claude several years ago through our son, Mark. They remained friends until the end. We are sorry for everyone's loss and wish you peace.

Thanks, ya'll. Didn't think about checking this site 'til now. He was the best brother I ever had. We'll miss him and have good memories. That's what's it's all about.

You will be missed at our next IHS 1965 class reunion. I will always remember our growing up together and running the roads and trails of Grayson County. I know you can now rest in peace with no pain.
