Andy Andrusko Obituary

Andy Andrusko Andrew Allen (Andy) Andrusko, 79, of Summerset Bay, Cross Hill, husband of Joan Quetel Andrusko, died on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Hospice House, Greenwood.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, he was a son of the late Andrew and Doris Shubert Andrusko. Andy retired in 1980 from the US Coast Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer after serving for more than 23 years in both the US Navy and the Coast Guard.

Andy and Joan met while he was stationed at St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, which was her home, where they married and their daughter, Lori, was born. During his career, they were stationed in numerous locations in the States and the South Pacific. Following retirement, they settled in Seminole, FL for 16 years and moved to Greenwood, their home, in 1996.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Andy is survived by his daughter, Lori Holloway (Jon) and his granddaughter, Annie, all of Hodges; two sisters, Doris Waldron of Grants Pass, OR and Darlene Burg of Alexandria, MN; brother-in-law, John Quetel (Josefa) and sister-in-law, Doris Sewell (Alan), all of Florida; numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A drop-in to celebrate Andy's life will be held on Sunday, April 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. at their home on Lake Greenwood at 305 Summerset Bay Drive, Cross Hill.

It is requested that memorials be made in Andy's memory to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 (www.hospicepiedmont.org) or to The Humane Society of Greenwood, PO Box 49776, Greenwood, SC 29649 (www.gwdhumanesociety.org).
